I feel like I'm pregnant!!

I am beginning to get really frustrated as well. I am 3 months post op and still have swelly belly and it's bigger than pre surgery. I also gained 10 lbs after surgery but don't know where it went since my clothes fit the same. So to lose the 10 lbs. I've been working out hard, 3/4 times per week for the last 6 weeks. I also hired a personal trainer and am eating better than ever. I have definately toned and lost inches and my stomach has gotten harder but I still look like I'm pregnant. And I have not lost a pound after 4 weeks of working with a trainer. He suggested to get my thyroid checked. I have an appt. with my doc. to get this checked out. He also said that anesthesia and post-op meds can really mess with your system and slow down your metabolism and throw your thyroid out of whack.

I feel like I'm pregnant!!

Most of my pain seems to be at the very base of my back, almost my butt. It isn't sharp, more like a toothache that won't go away. It gets much worse when I have to move my bowels (sorry TMI). Sometimes I get sharper pains in my kidney area or in my ovaries. The Doctor seemed to think it would go away after healing time but it's not. I'm looking for every option I can to figure out what is going on because I can't live with this pain all the time.

I feel like I'm pregnant!!

OMG - I feel pregnant also ! My stomach is HUGH and it doesn't seem to matter if I rest or not I can tell I'm bloated - and the gas is killer but no matter how much I release the tummy stays the same.
I traded my 4 month uterus for a 7 month pregnancy feeling ! YIKES
I know I just have to be patient but its tough and I'm only 3 weeks pre-op !

Thanks. I made an appt. today with a new GP. I think I'm going to start from scratch and rule out anything abnormal. Best of Luck to you Betts. Thanks for all the information!

I feel like I'm pregnant!!

Thanks to everyone for their replies. It's good to know that I'm not alone!

I will try to find some Spanx or a Hanes Light Girdle to help with my protruding belly! I will also take it easy since I have noticed that my belly starts off small in the morning, then grows according to my activity level! Our bodies tell us so much...we just have to listen!

Love, hugs and blessings to all!

I feel like I'm pregnant!!

Also Try "Assets" at Target. The same as Spanx, made by the same lady, but a little less expensive. I wear those under EVERYTHING. THe bike shorts go all the way to your ribs and to mid thigh without big bulges on your thigh where they end.
Also, I had one of those neoprene belts for your waist that go together with velcro. I even slept in it the other night. It gets hot, so if you're doing the menopause thing, I don't recommend it, but it does give you some extra support for your back and tummy if you need it.

I feel like I'm pregnant!!

I am so glad that i stumbled on this. I had a TVH on March 5th and I have the same feeling. My belly is so swollen. I week post op and I have less pain than i did before the surgery, so i really think (now) that i have to take things a little more easy. I am so glad that I found this site tonight.
