Torn posterior external stitches

I was VERY careful. I laid in bed, followed the rules. About day 5 days post op, I got a nasty stomach bug and threw up for 6-7 hours about every 15 mins. I think that's when it happened. I felt the tightness ease and it just FELT open. I went to the dr. a week later and he said the external, superficial stitches had opened on the exterior skin right below my vaginal opening and about 1" about my anus. It looks nasty.

There is a small stitch that held where the skin grew together immediately at the bottom of the vagina where the outter lips meet. Then a crater below that...then skin then my anus. It's awful looking. Apparently, he can't fix it for a few months, he says. I have to keep it clean and put vaseline on it before I urinate and Estrogen cream every other day. Has this happened to anyone else?

This dr. told me bowel movements weren't a problem and I shouldn't be having pain with them. It was pain the first week and a half and now just discomfort. I still don't look forward to them. I had posterior repair work done but he said I absolutely should have had no issues with bowel movements. I'm baffled.
