BM question (sorry if this is gross)

oky girls, i feel like screaming !! i have waited ALL day on a call back from the Dr. - today is day 5 from surgery i have done flax-seed on my oatmeal, ate freshfruits, taken stool softeners daily, used the 2 suppositories @ the hospital and drank enough milk of mag to sink the titanic,, still NOTHING - I put a call into the Dr.. waited ALL day on a phone call back, she is away at a conference, however some other lovely told me,, " they dont worry about such things " do to the fact your cleaned out before hand, and your narcotics will bind you up,, also your iron.. well HELLO ! did i mention that i had a episiotemy repair also and it is bulging and bleeding, and the pressure down there has caused at least 3 massive hemmeroids.. ( not my hubby and kids ) to rear the heads out to say hello ?? i am miserable ! plus i ran out of pain meds, they sent me home with a 3 day supply, when i asked for more,, they didnt understand why Tylenol or Motrin wasnt working for me !!?? eeeeeeeeeeeeek ! where is my Doc when i need her the most ??!! I had a terrible surgery that ended up going over 3 hours more than planned, they found all sorts of adhesions and endo when they got in there.. that they hadnt counted on !! wow.. i am ready to flip.. well maybe if i do.. ( literally ) this baby elephant that i feel like im holding in might just decide to fall out ?? what do you all think ??

Hugs to all !!......

Butterfly-kiss
Wow they only gave you 3 days worth. It sounds like you had a hard time. When I called for a re-fill on my meds the nurse gave me a hard time saying the goal is to get you off of the pain meds not give you more. I said well I still hurt and I have spread them out to 6-7 hours taking one. Sometimes I take 2 if necessary so I need more I dont' want to be in pain and have no meds. Why don't they give us a break we had a major surgery and it hurts. Give us pain MEDS! Have you tried prune juice in combination with all the other things you takin for a BM? It finally allowed me to go. I hope you feel better.

BM question (sorry if this is gross)

maybe getting a new puppy was a good idea (though the housetraining part has been slow going)..I thought this H was so similar to having a baby-all that planning and anticipation (and dreading the pain and the wondering about it all) but then you don't come home with anything...so the puppy has been fun..but my husband also decided to quit smoking the same day..so my first day home was a disaster!!! When the phone rang and he went to grab it, the puppy knocked his tea all over and he yelled and I heard it.....

he said all was well, but I knew it would be a mess...the puppy came running to me with tea all over it-he never would have seen that while he was cleaning the sofa and rug etc...(he has been so great) SO, I popped the pup in the sink to wash it off, then got my one and only new everyday favorite outfit all messed up and so then I went to my room when DH took over with that...(hereally is trying to do it all)....well, I slapped that Hormone patch on as quickly as I could and I think I have been happy and better everyday since!!!

I sort of feel all the hormones are throwing us all offf. and since this is all so new for me, and who really talks about any of this stuff anywhere??? so, I have not done my homework yet about HRT but my surgeon urologist Dr gave me this to start if I wanted (I encouraged it too)...the OB was going to wait and discuss it with me at the one month check up...but so far, all is well..hope I am not jinxing myself....so far this is working though-I am taking the patch by Vivelle.. the Wall Street Journal recently had an article about all these HRT and though i was on pain killers at the time, my DH and I read it and feel if I am going to take one, this is one of the better ones out there.... any opinions out there??

no more hot flashes and instead of being so hot-I am rather cold and enjoying my down comforter and all the wintry coverings...

ok,one last tip for you all having bathroom troubles still too. Beside my rec of taking the 3 Colaces at one time (and drinking a lot of water it says) I do have one cappacino each morning which is always like a laxative anyway too. SOme people don't know this...hopefully, it will help ...I hate to hear you are all in such agony, that makes me think you should call and ask about it to the Dr...

and sorry you all have kids around who aren't helping...I couldn't imagine trying to run a houshold from bed..you all need more TLC...good luck, hope it comes...

BM question (sorry if this is gross)

This whole husband/family thing must be iin the air. Today I said something to my husband about him being through with his caregiving duties. He flipped......he proceeded to tell me he done with me, not to call him, he's had it, he's done with everything. Then he left.

My poor mother is even at her boiling point with the laziness in this household. The 20yo works 12 hour shifts for like three days then is off for like four days. He's off more than he works (he in the Navy). All he wants to do is be out with his friends partying. So of course he is never here to lend a hand. He's staying in out guest room and absolutely has it trashed. He's supposed to be moving out every other week. My 22 yo daughter who is a nursing student lives w/ her bf. She HAS to be back to her apt. by 5:00 everyday. So with classes and work, she doesn't have time to be here. My DS 17 I have to say is the only one that really tries. But it's more with the big stuff, not the daily stuff like dishes and such. His gf practically lives with us and she won't move a muscle unless my son does. So she's pretty useless.

My poor mother is absolutely at her limit. I'm on bedrest at least until my doc comes back next week. I can't do anything to help her. I'm afraid that my mom is going to get sick....then what do I have.

What started out as a family really coming together in a crisis only took two weeks to fall apart. I don't know how I'm going to make it through this.

BM question (sorry if this is gross)

Hi ya girlfriends..... I've been staying quite and silently thinking abt how did i MARRY this selfish person that I waited on hand and foot for 18 yrs. Now at age 48 I have to go thru this practically by myself.

My favorite is the people who call and say ... "call me if you need anything" but never want to answer your calls and you better not really ask them for something.

I know im suppose to be all chippy and happy but right now that's not reality. This has been one of the most devastating things I've ever had to contend with and im NO real princess in life. Anyone who's gone thru this deserves a medal for SURVIVING... here's a shot of tequila to toast all your BRAVERY!
cheers

BM question (sorry if this is gross)

It must be contageous with the husband thing today. I can't poop and pee without crying and my husband wants me to take care of the kids tomorrow while he goes fishing. I asked him to empty one trash can today and he said he did not have time. I am very irritated right now. Thanks for the vent.

Things did improve. He went fishing and took both boys with him. I got to have the morning for myself.
