Vaginal Discharge Post Op

Hi there,

Have visited doc today who says I have an infection as I am losing light red discharge. I am not sure tho as I have no fever or symptoms of infection other than the discharge. I don't want to load my body with Anti-biotics if I don't have to. Any similar symptoms/discharge? Any advice?

Thanks a million...

Vaginal Discharge Post Op

I've the same spotting for the last week and called my Dr today, said as long as spotting not increasing (it has been decreasing) and no fever all fine. Sd to just take it easy and it could be I moved too fast or stretched wrong that started this... But according to nurse all OK

Vaginal Discharge Post Op

I went in for my 6 week check last week and upon exam I have an infection. I had no fever but had been having a yellow thin discharge for about a week. I thought nothing of it because it was odorless.

I am antibiotics now.

Vaginal Discharge Post Op

Hi there,

Thanks a lot. My loss has inc and last night sheets got soiled. I have just had a call from Doc to say I have urine infection, and hubby has gone to collect anti-biotics. Thing is I feel ok apart from this light red loss and I can feel the urine infection. Think I'll see how it goes and maybe contact my surgeon if loss does not slow down by w/end. :-)

I'm no Dr. but did they do a vaginal exam? How did they determine you had infection?

I have same spotting, very light red. It used to be darker, but like I said, it keeps getting lighter and it is combined with some other liquid (yellowish I would say)... Dr. said all this discharge is normal.

And In articles I have read here, same thing. Discharge is due to stitches being dissolved.

But if Dr. Said to take anti biotics, I would take to be sure. It won't hurt you (unless ur like me that gets yiest infection with anti-biotics).

But go to post op discussions and common questions, under discharge and you will find more info.

I know it gets scary not knowing what to do or think, but I try to just stay calm and not worry too much.
