day 8

Sorry you're still not feeling well.

You're still very, very early in your recovery. At the stage you are at now, I was still taking prescription pain pills around the clock and I hadn't gotten anything near a normal sleeping pattern. Naps during the day, then up at night.... It was weeks before I was able to for more than a few hours at a stretch.

I also remember going to my 3-week checkup and the nurses said I was doing "the hysterectomy shuffle" -- all hunched over and very, very slow. I had to smile at it, because I noticed that all of the other patients really *were* walking that way!

Our Hysterectomy Checkpoints for Weeks 1-2 has some great information for your stage of recovery.

Even though you may read lots of posts where seem to be feeling great and doing lots more than you are, please understand that your recovery is your own! For most (((sisters))), the first couple of weeks can be very rough at times.

Please be very gentle with yourself and I hope you're feeling much better soon!
