Ovaries asleep after hysto??

I think I am starting to make sense of all this. I had TVH on the 13th, kept the ovaries. I think maybe they are going to sleep or hybernating or something. I felt fine for the first couple days and am now on day 6. My face is all broken out, my boobs are swolen and tender, not to mention the crying fit for nothing.

Any one else have this?

Most likely that is what is going on. I had the crying spells and also still have the getting really hot at night issue. Dr. said it should be better by summer. My LAVH was 2/20. He said my hormones just need time.

Since you keep your ovaries did you have to go on HRT? Maybe your body is adjusting? I had everything taken out and I'm on HRT. I've had the hot flashes & some crying so maybe it is just part of a hyster. Hope you feel better!

How do you know if your ovary is working or not?

I had the crying spells for about two weeks and sweats at night. I still am quite warm at night followed by chills that are gawd awful, but I don't know how to tell if the right ovary is working or not?

DH told me I'm getting pimples on my back last night..sigh..

How do you know if your ovary is working or not?

I could feel which side was working before surgery and when they kicked back in I could feel them again. It is like a dull ache on what ever side is working for that month. Hope this helps.

Ovaries asleep after hysto??

Are you anywhere near the time when you would have started your period? My period would have started this Saturday, and I'm dealing with bloating, food cravings and feeling absolutely ravenous. These are symptoms I experienced each month before my period. I think my body is gearing up for a period that will never come.

I would have started around the 15th - 21st which is now..no symptoms at all. I normally get really cranky, NEED chocolate and get diahrea..but none of that...

Ummmmm..do you think that means it isn't working?

You could always contact your OB and see if there is something that will help kick start them. My OB said if mine didn't start working by 8 weeks she would give me a low dose of hrt to get them working again. I got lucky and didn't need them. Wont hurt to call them and see. Take care
