Ovaries asleep after hysto??

At my 1 week post-op checkup, I asked my GYN if she would be giving some kind of hormone therapy until my ovaries started working again- she told me that they are STILL working, which is not what I hear from this board.
I was really short-tempered with my family, and attributed it to the hormone imbalance, dormant ovaries thing.... I guess if I still feel like something's not right then I will ask her again for some HRT.

I have read some posts suggesting drinking soy milk to jump start your ovaries. Not sure if it would work, but have been told by dr. that some women's bodies convert soy into estrogen.

Ovaries asleep after hysto??

Saw the doc today (day 7 of recov.) and she said by two weeks out she would expect them to be back online so to speak. She said the uterus was also one of the blood supplies and since that is cut off they rely on their other blood supply so they are "angry/crabby" once they get use to it everything will be back to normal.

I would have still been 2-3 weeks away from my next period. My right side does hurt more than the left since surgery....
