Can anyone tell me if this is ok?

I am 3 weeks post op for rectocele repair. I did not have the mesh placed. The stitches that are outside are healing well, but my internal stitches are not. When I clean myself just inside my vaginal opening is a 'clump'. I am hoping that it is the stitches or scar tissue and that all will heal over time. Can anyone tell me exactly what it is and should I be concerned or is this all part of the healing process? Thank you all for any reply

to HysterSisters. Did you have your surgery in conjunction with your hysterectomy? I am wondering if the stitches are just part of the yet-to-be-dissolved part of normal stitches involved in your repair? Sometimes it takes longer than 3 weeks for those stitches to dissolve.

The best thing to do would be to ask your doctor exactly what it is. None of us are in the place to examine you and tell what it is, of course.

If the stitches are bothering you, you can call and ask your Dr. what to do about them. I was given epifoam for the external stitches and premarin cream to help heal internally,

I do hope you find the relief and info you need ASAP.

S and good vibes.......
