Pain Worse Now than last week

I'm 13 days post op, had a LAVH, and still have my ovaries. Yesterday and today, I have been in more pain than I was last week. I was at the dr two days ago, and felt fine....then yesterday it hit me hard.

Has this happened to anyone else.....or does anyone know why it would happen? Am I doing too much? I'm doing close to nothing now!

Help!!

Hi RM3. I had a similar experience. Feel good a few days, the next few feel horrible. I realized that when I was feeling good, I tended to overdo it and then that would result in not feeling well the next few days. Even if you don't feel that you've overdone it, I believe it's normal to have good and bad days. If it concerns you too much, I would call the dr.

Are you taking the same pain meds as last week and at the same level and time intervals ? personally I felt a little better every day. on the days I overdid it I felt a little worse, but no worse then a day or two before. if you feel significantly worse then it might make sense to give the doctor a call and get his/her thoughts. I'm definitely a 'better safe then sorry' person.

If you are in more pain now than you were last week you need to call your doctor. He might want to see you to make sure there's nothing else going on in there. I hope you feel better soon.

I think I may call him. I went to stand up and had a hard time standing upright.

The pain shot me right back down.

We had the same surgery/same day. I too feel worse today. Tons of pelvic pressure and almost feeling "crampy" but more pain than cramping. I haven't been on any pain meds since post-op day 4 because of constipation. Now that my bowels have finally started to work I thought I would feel better, but actually feel worse.

I know I overdid it yesterday. I wasn't supposed to drive yet, but had to take my son to the doctors. Ended up sitting in the waiting room for 3 hours, and was out for about 5 hours total.

Now I have to go make dinner, but just want to curl up with my heating pad.

Hope you feel better soon,
Gigi

Yes, Gigi, I didn't think I had been pushing it, but I guess I have. I spoke with the dr today, he confirmed I have been doing too much. The crampy, sharp shooting pains are to slow us down from doing too much. He said our bodies tell us when enough is enough.

I wish someone would explain this to my husband...otherwise, he will be talking to the other side of the door to the house.

You need to take it easy you had a major surgery. I understand the feeling better and wanting to do more, but we have to allow time to heal. The triage nurse at my Dr office told me that I'll have good days and bad ones for up to 6 weeks. I'm 11 days post-op and last night my DH said that I need to move around more so that I'll heal. I don't think I've been walking much. I guess I'll walk out to the mailbox wish me luck! I hope you feel better tomorrow.
