Drainage/Dischage....Because poop isn't gross enough!

Okay ladies....

Everytime I think I've hit a plateau or I've got everything figured out......I see, hear, or feel something new.

This is absolutely the most disgusting thing that has happend to me so far....

I just went potty and I swear it looks like there was poop in my vaginal discharge! It was on my pad and in the toilet. Ugh!!!!! This is so gross. Keep in mind I had both vaginal and anal surgery.

So now what???? What the hell is happening to me!!!! I'm so sick of this and it's only day 11!!!!!

Drainage/Dischage....Because poop isn't gross enough!

Well, that's what I thought at first, too. You know that yukkie stuff you get at the end of her period. But this had actual semi solid matter in it. Geesh....I had such a good day and thought things were normal and I was well on my way to recovery. I'm so frustrated with this whole process.

Drainage/Dischage....Because poop isn't gross enough!

I was just at my doctor today. She did a very thorough exam vaginally and unfortunately rectally.....other than taking out a few stitches, everything seemed fine.

Up until earlier tonight when I had a fairly large BM I had what I thought would be a "normal" drainage for being 11 days postop. A couple of hours after the BM I just went to urinate and I discovered this.

It just seems like one problem gets addressed and up pops another. My pain issue seems to have been resolved with the removal of a few stitiches today. Now this......

These highs and lows are really bugging me.

Denise -

There was another lady on here a while back who had the same problem. I'm not sure how to search for her post, but if I remember right, it was a fissure between the vagina and rectum that let the poop through. I don't know if that is the same as what is happening to you, but you should call your Dr.

About being frustrated - I know EXACTLY how you feel. I had a very complicated recovery with multiple complications and eventually another major surgery. I don't say this to scare you but to let you know you WILL get through this. I am 6 weeks out from my second surgery now and everything is better than it was at 11 days. The light is glaring at the end of the tunnel now!!

Hugs to you,

Starbgirl

Hi Denise I would call the DR and ask if they need to see you again about this. It could be tissue, or dried blood, or other 'normal' part of healing, but if it is fecal matter it could indicate a rectovaginal fistula, and that's something you'd want to know about. I'm concerned because of the timing -- that it happened right after you had those stitches out. Hopefully you'll find out it's nothing to worry about, but -- get it checked out anyway, OK?

-Linda

Thank you so much all.......I'm going to shoot an email to my doc tonight. She'll probably have me come in.

I felt terrible posting something so gross and you all made me feel that it's okay.

This is an outstanding site!!!!

Denise, where else can we share our bodily functions and feel such a close connection?? So you know my experience today....I also had more bleeding with the BM and some solid particles. It looked a little fleshy..sorry. It turned out to be more like older blood which was almost solid.
