Photos from your surgery

At my pre-op appt I asked my doc to take photos of my uterus after the surgery. He gladly agreed and said 8 times out of 10 he does anyway.
DH got to see the photos when my doc when to speak to him after surgery. I didn't get to see them until my post-op appt yesterday.
The photo where its intact looks like an alien for sure. The one where it was cut opened showed that my uterus really was a mess ! I had a baseball sized fibroid at the top of my uterus pressing on my back to the left and my bladder to the right. I had a golfball sized fibroid behind my bladder. And the wall of my uterus was 5.8cm in places because of all the fibroids within the walls !
Add to all that the extensive endo .... well, sometimes I just feel stupid for not having this surgery when it was first suggested 5 years ago. OTOH - I wasn't comfortable with that doctor; 5 years later after meeting my current doctor there was no question in my mind that he was the person for the job.

My Dr said he was going to take pictures too. I have my 2 week post-op on the 31st. I'll be curious to see what they look like.

The day after my surgery my dr came in and showed me the photos he took. I had originally asked to see the offending parts but settled for photos instead! nasty nasty nasty - the fibroid was at least cantelope size. I felt vindicated to actually see what was making me so miserable all those years!

My dr. showed me the picture of my uterus and cervix as soon as I was in the recovery room. The next day when she came to check up on me, she gave me the picture. It's so weird to actually see it.

Oops - didn't realize that TOS forbade outside photos. I've now posted them to the forum.
