to cycle or not to cycle natural progesterone

I go tthe impression here that some ladies cycle natural progesterone and some do not. I think I have also read that the directions on the natural progesterone creams were meant for women who went through a natural menopause not surgical menopause. I have tried to stop for like a day or two several times but I am crazy by then and go back on it.I can't imagine going 5 or 10 days without it.
Not to mention what it does for my sleep. I like the drowsiness I get with it.I'm alot calmer with it and I am a type A" personality.
I use the ususal dose to a little more when I am under alot of stress. plus estrogen patches. Do Ihave to cycle because I really have not been able to. My body with its inflammation at my back surgery, and documented allergies to almost everything in my environment seems to run out of progesterone rather quickly.

Hi,

You might do a Google and look up Dr. John Lee. He seems to be somewhat of an authority on progesterone cream. He has books on pre and post menopause and explains how to use the cream.

Ann,
If you feel better using it every day, than I see nothing wrong with doing so. Hormones are not one size fits all, you need to do what works best for you.

Thanks Kim M.,
yes I do feel better using it everyday. As I said I did try to take breaks and very quickly after that within a day I start to have urinary leakage problems which the progesterone seems to fix. As soon as I get back on it ,that problem stops. I have read where the body will "steal" progesterone to make cortisol to deal with inflammation/allergies and the like and I am pretty sure that is what is happening to me.I really think that everybody is different like you said and I will keep using it. The only thing that concerned me about taking it everyday was reading where it can build up in your system if you don't take breaks. I have hardly felt a buildup that didn't go away fairly quickly for me as my body seems to eat it up.
