Torn Vaginal Cuff - Now what?

PattieO,

Yes it felt like he hit the top, we actually heard and felt a "pop", and then the pain - I literally could not move - it hurt so bad. The pain was as if I had the worst constipation ever. I went to the bathroom later that night and fell from the blinding pain. I actually fell asleep on the bathroom floor because I could not get up from the pain.

Did something happen to trigger your pain? I'll ask my doc on the belly button question. I am so sorry to hear you go through this. Keep me informed please?

Torn Vaginal Cuff - Now what?

No... this area has been sore almost from the beginning.. I joke that maybe something was left in there, because when I had my D&C at the end of the report, it stated all instruments accounted for. On my hyst. report it didn't say that. I am guess it is just a nerve (maybe actually sewn into the fascia)
but I was trying to find out exactly how our vaginas are suspended. Otherwise I pictured it turning inside out during intercourse...Vivid imagination. Also so many complain of pain by their belly buttons.. My doc won't clear us for sex for 10 wks... (2 more to go)... With the other surgery it has been 4 months so I'm guessing I'll be like a virgin all over again. Ha.
Also my doc told us not to get to "aggressive" I am guessing your situation is the reason why.

The Dr did remove my cervix. Is this common to have your vagina cuff torn?

No this does not happen often. I've read other threads and it does happen now and then. Sounds like sometimes another surgery is needed for a repair. I spoke to my dr yesterday and in my case, it is a question of time and healing again. I damaged or bruised something inside. Because of this, she's put me off my feet for another 8 weeks to be sure I heal completely. I don't think I will need another surgery. Time, pain killers and anti-inflammatories should take care of it. Thank goodness!

I am feeling better today than yesterday and the pain has subsided quite a bit. I still tire easily, but I feel like I am on week 4 now. It still hurts and I am just impatient to be back to normal. Now our count down is at 7 more weeks...sigh. .

PattieO - I would definately ask your dr about the belly button pain. I'm no doctor but it sounds like it is something completely different though. This does not sound right either. DH always said "we are our own best doctors".

Take Care.
