Some Pre Op Advice

hello my sisters, or soon to be sisters! I wanted to post a couple of things on here that I didn't see before.

If you have a long wait before your surgery, I would suggest spending some time really getting your body into shape and eating well ( balanced lean protein and healthy carbs plus happy green veggies for every meal!) I was lucky and happened to be doing a 12 week challenge when I decided enough was enough and to just have it out. So I was in probably the best shape of my life pre-op and I htink that is what is really helping me to recover nicely. I can pull myself out of a chair and heavy lifting is a relative term. Now I realize that not everyone has the option of time, but a healthy diet even a week or 2 before surgery can really help with recovery.

Also, Vitamins C and A and Zinc are useful in tissue repair, of course check with your Doc as per all meds and supplements.

I also want to state, if you are nervous and scared, please don't spend too much time reading horror stories about hysts, I found that I had to NOT head into the sexual dysfunction area here at HysterSisters as it scared the crap outta me and made me second guess myself. I'm not saying that forums of that nature are bad, but remember there are 1000's of women who have no problems with thier Hyst and many of them may not post here as they don't need as much wonderful support as the ladies who are struggling post-op.
Just something to keep in mind.
