Anyone's DR approved 8 weeks off???

I'm at 12 weeks but I had some "bonus" work done. :-)

I'm hoping to go back part-time working from home before then though. It's been less than four weeks now and on my good days I'm bored out of my skin. Bad days, I'm glad I have the time.

Take Care,

Anyone's DR approved 8 weeks off???

Yes I have been approved 3months total due to endometriosis!! I first was off the month of March and had my surgery on 3-27 which was originally laser vaginal hysterectomy so they started out doing that but mid stream after making 4 incisions my doctor said he was uncomfortable with my bladder being in the way and all the scar tissue below he did an abdominal hysterectomy incision and took out everything but one ovary on the left for my hormones to be manageable at my age!! So yes I feel like double pain on both ends and I needed the vacation even though I feel horrible im in good spirits for myself so I wont be gloomy!!

Anyone's DR approved 8 weeks off???

I am planning for 6 weeks after LAVH. Originally doc said 4 weeks until I told him my job is 12+ hours on my feet and lots of lifting, then he said 6weeks. I have had several post-op complications and am still having pain. Also I still am having to straight cath myself every 3-4 hours as my bladder is showing no signs of recovering from the hyst. My urologist said it would be no problem to go back to work and still be straight cathing- is he crazy!?! I see him again on wednesday so we'll see. He said if things don't improve by my next visit he'll "look into it further." I don't want to even think about what that means.

I actually don't see my gyn for my post-op until the day after I go back to work, but I may have to speak to him sooner if things don't improve.

Anyone's DR approved 8 weeks off???

I was approved for 3 months leave by my doctor because of the kind of work I do. I work in health care that involves a lot of lifting, pulling and pushing so that was a very big consideration on my part.

I also work in health care and initially said 8 weeks. I have to say the last 2 days have been better, but I still can't imagine pushing or lifting at this point. I go back for my 6 week check up 4/23, and will see how I am feeling then to decide if I might take a couple of more weeks. That ER will still be there when I get back.

Anyone's DR approved 8 weeks off???

I was given 11 weeks off from work. My DR agreed to the extra frour weeks off due to ongoing bladder problems from the surgery. My employer allowed for 12 weeks off and with short term disability, the financial part of being off so long wasn't bad. I was greatful for the extra weeks off!
