I tried Estrovin Es, didn't work. Then tried Estrace...still no sleep. Am on Premarin1.25 mg and am sleeping soundly, hair not falling out, acne settling down, mood stabilizing and I actually am starting to see small pieces of my old self. I think I'll stay on Premarin.

I am 51 and take 0.625mg once a day. I had a SAH and kept cervix and both ovaries on 2/21. I started taking the Premarin about 2 weeks later when I called my doctor about the severe hot flashes and night sweats.

Hope this helps!

Had one hot flash after TAH and BSO in hospital. Dr. had prescribed premarin when I checked out and I have not had a hot flash or night sweat. I was not thrilled with hrt idea and had hoped to keep ovaries, but not able to. I don't know if I'm not noticing side effects of the pill because I started it immediately and with all the symptoms and pains from surgery, who can tell symptom goes with what. I did have an UTI and didn't even know it because everything hurt anyway!! Week 6 and things are improving!!!

That is what I am thinking that unless it was all my hair falling out,...I wouldn't even notice what is causing what. I am not have any problems that i can tell so far from the prmerin. Best to all

So far I haven't noticed any side effects either. Hopefully this will work so I don't have to change again. I do like taking a pill a day vs. having to rip a patch off every 7 days!

I actually am in a better mood than before the surgery, maybe i needed the estrogen all along and that is why i was tired and miserable or it could have been the constant flow of blood. hmmm

wow! I thought I was going crazy! I am taking Premarin and I am still trying to find the correct dosage. I cry at least three times a day.... for no reason. I had my surgery 3/14/2008. How do you know IF the Premarin is working? How do you know if your taking enough?

I'm comparing it to the patch and the symptoms I had. When I left the hospital I had a Climar patch no problems. Then my DH filled the script with a generic brand I cried all the time, had hot flashes & sweating. I also was mean. I was getting dizzy too. My Dr wanted to try Premarin. I'm not as dizzy and not as many hot flashes. I haven't cried either. I've only been on it since Thurs, but so far so good.

yes when I left the hospital I had a patch on as well. After my follow up visit with the MD he suggested that I needed a higher dose of HRT, and he asked me if I'd rather take the pill form... I was cool with that. I guess I'm just waiting for a miracle to occur! I want to feel fabulous again!
