I'm scared my Doc will clear me for sex :(

I had a SAH both ovaries and was cleared for sex after 3 weeks. I was scared but also very ready so we took our time, got creative and sex was fabulous.

Everyone has different experiences, mine happened to have been lovely.

I'm scared my Doc will clear me for sex :(

I am afraid too and am at 4 weeks. I didn't relize my cervix was also removed until today and didn't ask if I have a surgical cuff. Does that mean I do? Does that make less room? That really scares me and I am single but in a relationship. My partner has said he knows of people who don't want sex after hyst and I have assured him I will but I am honestly afraid. He also has not been so patient. Is it better the longer we wait because it is more healed? Or will time make it more healed and more difficult physically to resume sex? I feel so dumb..................

I'm scared my Doc will clear me for sex :(

I had sex at 5 weeks after having a LAVH and keeping my ovaries, the doc said I was 80% ahead of my recovery and we had sex. It is nerve racking the first time but the time it takes and the analization of doing it is intense. Sex is much better but a little more messier with the cuff. When having sex the first time it is very much playing dr. but fun..

Aussie down under

I also have my gyno check up next week and now have a heap of questions to ask about the sex thing especialy about tenderness and whether I also still have a cervix or not.

DH and I are in our early 50's and I must admit I am also anxious about whether it will be uncomfortable when we go for it again. At least I know I won't be alone with that one.

Good luck to you all with the romance side of things. men don't know how lucky they are.

I'm scared my Doc will clear me for sex :(

My husband suggested we have anal sex my first night home from the hospital, if you can believe it!!!

I looked at him and said, it didn't happen before my surgery and it's definately not an option now!!

I tell ya, some guys just don't get it.

It's interesting hearing some of the suggestions of some of your husbands! Argh, men....don't understand em sometimes. However, I did have a talk with my husband last night, about the whole exploration of a new chapter of our sex lives, and my new body etc... I was making a big deal of it because it is a big deal..... his response was "is that all you had to talk to me about? I was expecting a big bomb or something" . Totally doesn't get the emotional intimacy part of it. So, as I know he will be patient and what not, I suppose not all men are capable of being excited about the "journey" together. In my opinion, it probably just feels like he has to work for it again, which is one of the perks of getting married to most men, then they think they don't have to work for it anymore lol. Ah well, I guess I'll be emotional about it all by myself.

I am afraid of sex hurting too. I still hurt to wipe after using the bathroom. Sex scares me to death.
