Burning pelvic pain 5months post op

Hi there
I have been doing reasonably well after my keyhole hyster and excission of endometriosis. However thsi last week I have had terrible pain and burning sensation in my pelic area. GP put me on Augmentin - a very strong antibiotic. I rang consultant and he says I may have thrush in pelvic area and need antithrush treatment. Has anyone else had this? I just feel so depressed by it all - when will i be back to normal and be able to exercise like I used to?

Hi (((celia)))
I'm sorry to hear you have some on-going problems. I didn't really have a similar experience, but I just wonder about what your dr said. Am I correct in understanding that your GP put you on a very strong antibiotic and then you called your consultant and they said you could have thrush, but that dr hasn't examined you yet?

I wanted to make sure we understand your situation in order to help you. Do you have an appt to have the thrush checked out? I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with the titles of your drs so I hope I haven't added confusion here.

I was just thinking that the two diagnoses and treatments are contradictory. If your body is fighting yeast already the strong antibiotic could make the situation worse, as I understand it. Make sure you are clear about what your drs have said and what the course of action is to make it better. I would want them to verify what they are treating too and not just prescribe something if they are just guessing.

About the exercising, I know it took me a long time to get to where I could exercise the way I did before surgery. I would suggest you do what you can do. I wished I had started out walking more. It seemed too simple to me in comparison to what I was used to, but it can have great benefits in strengthening your body and helping you get to where you want to be, especially if everything else is proving to be too much.

I wish you well. Please let us know what you find out and how you progress. I hope you will find out what you're dealing with and get it cleared up soon.
's, Rita
