Bailex, How awful that you are still struggling with an infection. You didn't say what type of infection, you said that is has spread to your legs and back, I question if it is a staph or strep infection that you may of acquired while in the hospital, and not related to the uterian or cervical infection as a result of the cancer. if you are not getting adequate care from you general practitioner or OB/GYN then I would ask for a referal to a "Infectious Disease Physician" that can culture the site and diagnosis the type of infection and get you on the appropriate meds.

I agree with KSGal that you should see and Infectious Disease Physician. When did the infection start? I dont want to scare you but if it is spreading I would see this type of physician imediately. MRSA is becoming more prevelent. Please see an Infectious Disease Physician soon and demand some answers. Good luck. Sending prayers your way. Keep us updated!!

Just an fyi but staph and strep infections can be acquired ANYWHERE and MRSA is now a community acquired bacteria as well so it may be hard to track where you got the infection - all the more reason to seek out an infectious disease specialist...good luck to you. hope you are feeling better really soon!
