I would LOVE to see what the inside of my belly looks like now

I am just fascinated thinking about how the inside of my abdomen has changed...

I retained my ovaries and cervix, but do all the other organs fill the space left by the departed uterus and fibroids?
How many stitches are there, dozens, hundreds? Ligaments must have been removed and reattached elsewhere to support the vagina I think... so is THAT what I feel when I press and poke my tummy?

I wish I could find some images online. Am I alone in these thoughts?

Hey TunaCat........you are not alone. My surgery was pretty much the same as yours, except there was one ovary that couldn't be saved. And yes, I share your curiosity. What made me wonder was the very different feeling a BM has now. Not painful......just different. Wonder what they did to my insides, and how/what they attached things to. If you find a site........please share
And I'm sorry for upsetting you with my last post.( About the vaginal appearance.)

Under resources at the top of your page is some videos of procedures. They are graphic but I found them fascinating. I also wanted to know what they did. I also found one on youtube. I didn't move the whole time watching the davinci procedure. Mouth open.....amazed.....

I too wonder what it looks like in there? A big black hole? I had the Davinci and was glad that I didn't watch the video until after. Wasn't even sure what the procedure was until after. My ds thinks its neat that a robot took out my parts. I'm not so sure. what if dr. got a hand twitch? Or robot thingy decided to get a mind of its own? Of course, I'm glad I went that way. Bm's do feel different, I thought it was only me. It doesn't hurt, just weird. I asked dr. if scar tissue was going to fill empty space and become its own organ and he couldn't say yes or no. It's funny the things that go thru your head.
Hope everyone is recovering well.

That cracked me up!!

You gotta wonder what happens if the power fails, too, does the robot have a backup battery?

I like that we can share just about ANY personal info on this forum, and yes, BM's do feel different, I agree.

TunaCat ~ Great post! I, too, have been wondering what my insides look like. I don't even know if I have a vaginal cuff. I only heard about it from this site. I see my doctor for the first time tomorrow (4 wk check) so I will be asking him many questions. I had a TAH, kept ovaries, on March 6, 2008. I am working up the nerve to check out the google sites.
