How much walking do you do?

Shellbear,
During week 1 post-op, I shuffled to the potty and back to my recliner. Then shuffle to the fridge, then shuffled to my recliner. I'm at 3 months post op now. For me, exercise-like walking is done very cautiously and only a short time and distance. I over did that one day last week and I was a goner for walking much the rest of the week.

How much walking do you do?

Denise,
Thanks for your post. I walked to our chicken pen, which is in the backyard today and came back in exhausted. I am 12 days since surgery. I felt very disappointed in myself because I felt like a lazy bum for being so exhausted after that little stroll. I can't be up and about for more than 30 min.before I feel like my insides are going to fall out. Thanks to your post I feel like maybe I'm on track...so I'm getting off this computer and back on the couch for awhile...

How much walking do you do?

Well, I'm glad my words were helpful to you. I'll be 4 weeks postop, tomorrow. I still spend most of my time reclined in bed. I went out yesterday to Michael's and Target. I was only gone 1 1/2 hours and I felt like my insides were going to fall out as I walked back into my house. I came straight upstairs and went to bed. Other than folding some laundry today I didn't do much else. This time it was the pelvic pressure and back pain, as well as just being flat out tired.

The hardest lesson we all have to learn is to be patient. I'm naturally a very impatient and controlling person. So to be out of control just makes me even more impatient. I'm workign on it!

One day at a time......
