What to take to hospital??

Look up......click on pre-op and read all you can. You'll find a treasure trove of info. Read all you can, write down EVERYTHING that crosses your mind as a question........and ask your doctor anything that's on your mind. (Same goes for the pre-op visit at the hospital.)

What to take to hospital??

The list you are looking for is in the pre-op section, once you have clicked on it then look under "Most Popular". I didn't take all on the list. I wore a jogging suit and comfy shoes to and from the hospital. Once there, after surgery used their gown, brought a robe, socks and slippers for when I walked around. Also brought the basic toiletries, chapstick was a must. I did take some mints too, helped with the dry mouth. You basically are just laying around and don't need or want much. For the ride home I did have a pillow which helped a lot during bumps and rough spots.

Best of luck to you in your surgery and recovery!

What to take to hospital??

You can find the list by clicking here
It has good suggestions on what to take and what not to take

I didn't take a lot and used even less. But some things that I enjoyed and found useful were my chapstick, favorite bed pillow ( hate skimpy hospital pillows ) and some ear plugs. The ear plugs really helped with all the noise sometimes involved at hospitals.

What to take to hospital??

Hi there, went in jogging outfit and came back in it. My bag included, 1 comfy PJ, one nightrobe, 2 in 1 shampp, lotion, chapstick, toothbrush and paste, hairbrush, hairdryer, bra, undies, panti liner, deo, i-pod, cell phone, little pillow for ride home, 1 magazine, 1 book, reading glases, cough drops. It all fit into a back back. I stayed 2 days. hope this helps too. Good luck with your surgery and get well, don't forget to be pampered.

Someone also posted something that I thought was a brilliant idea. They suggested taking a fanny pack and attaching it to the bedside railing so you can reach anything you need easily.

Haven't had surgery yet but I hear Gas-X strips and stool softeners are helpful. Talk with your doctor first.

What to take to hospital??

Call your hospital before packing!!!! I packed light and still needed nothing. My hospital provided me with toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, pads, disposable panties, slippers, blankets, wash up wipes, shampoo, mouthwash, etc....Everything that I needed was provided. I wore the gown they gave me. I was in no mood to get into my own pj's and couldn't because of the catheter and blood drainage bag. I used their supplies when I was able to get up and move around. I wore the exact same thing home as I did when I arrived. I had hubby put a pillow in the car for the ride home. No need to drag that into the hospital as they provide you with as many as you need. I used my glasses and my ponytail holder. That was it. Please, please, please call your hospital and see what they provide to you upon check in. I'm sure you will find that you really don't need to take anything with you.
