Breast Pain and Death in the Family- Help Please

Hi All: *hugs*

Life is funny in it's own way. I need you guys and I thought of you in this time of my need. My 11 year old granddaughter was killed in a car accident last week. That's not what I am writing here about tho.

I had my TAH SBO hyserectomy Dec 3. 2007. I have felt great. I am taking hormone replacements in estrogen patch and was taking progesterone. The only problem I am having is major breast pain. I am certain it is from my lymph node areas around both breasts.

I do drink coffee and have always found it the hardest thing to stop drinking. With the stress of the loss of my granddaughter I think stress is contributing to this. I have always had some breast pain and and do not have a history of breast cancer in my family.

I have been trying to go to see my gyn doctor but cannot get in at this point because he is leaving for vacation. My husband and I are going away for a few days. I understand that things like breast cancer are generally not painful.

Could someone give me some advice? I stopped the progesterone. Heat gives me comfort. I am going to do thing to lower the stress. How worried should I be?

Be well and happy ladies!

Paulette

Breast Pain and Death in the Family- Help Please

Paulette,

I am so sorry about your granddaughter...sorry you had to go thru something like that...I can only imagine the pain and suffering you are feeling. I pray God gives you strenght, and puts peace and understanding in your heart. we dont know why these things happen, but we must trust God as to why. its hard but thru prayer and faith, is how we make it thru. God bless you and your family in this time of need.

as to the breast pain....I would go and see a doctor as soon as you can, because we never know what it can be and you will feel better knowing. if your doctor is going on vacation, for how long? does he have a partner, who is on call? as to the pain, I have heard both, sometimes there is no pain and sometimes there is.... Paulette, trust God with your health and put yourself in His hands....

pls let me know what you decide....
blessings,

Breast Pain and Death in the Family- Help Please

Dear Mumbo48
I'm so sorry to hear about your grand-daughter,its such a sad time time for you all. I know how heartbroken you must be.
I'm 39 and had breast cancer in 2001 and again on the other breast in 2003 and on both occasions the lumps that I found were painless. Ive been told at the hospital that the painless lumps can be more worrysome!
The pain maybe from the H.R.T, hormones are often causes of breast pain.
But you cannot let this go unchecked. Do it have to be that Doctor?
I live in Ireland and here we go to our General Practitioner and they refer you to a breast specialist. This is not a gyn doc's field. I know it may be different where you live but dont waste time waiting for your Doc to come back and He write a referral and you have to wait for a consultation and many weeks can go by for all this to happen! So act now, And most likely its not, what you're afraid it might be. I'm absolutely fine now. Acting early is the key. I'm so sad for you about your granddaughter..You will be in my thoughts.

So sorry to hear about your granddaughter.

Have you done a self breast exam to check for any lumps?

Definitely get an appointment with dr to rule out breast cancer and fibrocystic breast disease.

Take care of yourself!

Thanks

Thanks for responding. Someone mentioned clinic and I remembered there are breast clinics here. I called and found a doctor who will see me next week. I feel this may be from stress, hormones, and caffiene. Thanks again all

Hugs,

(((Paulette))))

I am sorry for your loss. You are going thru a lot right now and anyone would be stressed.

We will keep a positive thought for you. Both my sisters can not go anywhere near caffeine as it causes them just the sort of pain you describe.

Having said that, you should go to the clinic to be evaluated, as it is always best to ask a physician about any troubling symptom. I wish you the best of care.
