Anyone giving their Dr a thank you card?

On the day of my post op appointment, DH and I delivered a fruit basket to the nursing staff at the hospital and another fruit basket to my doctor's nurse and staff at the cancer center. For the doctor, we brought wine since he considers "food and wine" as hobbies of his. The doctor's nurse must have thanked us three times!

Denise - I think stirrup covers would be great! One of my gynies had flannel stirrup covers and they were so comfortable. He used to run the speculum under warm water, too.

I was going to do the stirrup covers but the tables in my drs office all have stirrups that slide into the table when not in use. I don't see them slipping little covers on them everytime the opened up the stirrups. We'll see. Right now.....I've got about 15 hats done. I might switch to something else. I get bored very easily.

I can't remember if my doctor's table had the disappearing stirrups or not. I am impressed with the 15 hats, Denise!

Anyone giving their Dr a thank you card?

I am a paper crafter, so I made thank you cards for every act of kindness and I included both my GYNs and the Urologist that had to repair my bladder after it was nicked.

March 30th was National Doctor's Day so I sent all 3 cookie bouquets. I sent the Women's Surgical Wing at the hospital a card and Gourmet Popcorn.

I guess I am slightly grateful for everything that everyone did.

I was looking at giving a cookie bouquet. I haven't decided I know I'm defiantly giving a thank you card.

I, too, have had my doctor for a long time (over 20 years). He has been wonderful. He is very attentive and has great bed-side manners as well. I just had my post op. last Friday and I told him how much I appreciated him. I do think that I will send a card and/or plant as well. As a teacher, I know how important it is to get feedback as to how much you are appreciated. It is nice to get that validation in one's profession. We should not take our doctors for granted.

I sent my doctor one. He is such a great doctor and I also have been going to him for years. He delivered my youngest child who is now 18. I wanted him to know how much I appreciated his good care.

Excellent Idea

I think this is an excellent idea. I thought about tipping my doctor. I didn't have a history with my doctor. I specifically sought him out in January because he performed hysterectomies with the DaVinci robot and my OB/GYN of 17 years would only do an open hysterectomy. I feel he did an excellent job and will give him either a monetary amount or gift certificate to a nice restaurant at my post op checkup.

Blessings to you all,

I think a gift certificate to a nice restaurant is a better idea. They are not "allowed" to accept monetary gifts. Besides....they make enough money! LOL
