6 mths post and sex not like it use to be

I have to come back and say hi and thanks you for all the help giving during my recovery time. Today is 6 mths and it isn't what I thought it would be. We have had sex maybe 6-8 times since January 26th and it hasn't been great. We were use to many times a week and it was wild and wonderful. We thankfully have a loving relationship, but something has to give. I don't want to because the prolapse repair changed things too much for comfort. The TAH is great, but the tender belly that won't go away is annoying to say the least. If anything touches me I go nuts. The swelly belly is the same way. It hasn't gone away and I thought after this length of time it would be down, yes I am working but ... I am still very tired and don't have energy for the things life is dishing out. I keep going and pray for the best. I hope my DH continues to understand, but the day is coming for something to be said or done. HELP.

Love to all,
Queena

Dear Queena,

I'm so sorry to hear about your discomfort. First, I want to say that it can be very normal to still have swelly-belly and a tender tummy 6 months post-TAH. I did also, until I was past my 8th month post-op.

A gyn has said that TOTAL healing takes from 6 months to a year, so the above symptoms could indicate that healing is still taking place.

However, I'm concerned about the results of your prolapse repair. Have you discussed this with your Dr.? If you haven't, I strongly suggest you call him and let him know of the trouble the repair site has given you. He may want to check things out. The Dr. who did your repair will best know how you should be progressing, and may have some helpful insight for you. Please let us know what happens.

My very best to you...

Linda

queena, if your doc doesn't believe in natural hormone replacement, find one that does. i went thru 9 months of that yucky, run-down, tired feeling and a week after i changed my hormone regimen i felt like a new person. it's been a month and i'm going strong and getting better each day.
i went to 3 docs before i found someone who took this seriously, but it was so worth it.
i wish you the best of luck and the blessing of good health.
