Do you still get all the PMS symptoms around your period time?

I should start my period by Friday Sunday at the latest, I kept my ovaries (both of them) and I have sore boobs, WHICH I always get around that time, I have gained like 2 lbs and feel super duper bloated

Is it possible to still get all this around that time???

Do you still get all the PMS symptoms around your period time?

Oh my goodness! I still get EVERYTHING except the bleeding! The sore boobs, the backache, the headaches, and the attitude seems worse than before! I feel terrible during it all! My poor husband thought he would be done with all that after the hysterectomy. Oops! lol

Sorry to say but yes it is possible. My dr warned me that if I had pms before which I did that I will still have the symptoms just no bleeding so yes you will still have your symptoms.

well, yes! if you have your ovaries, nothing has changed as far as the hormonal cycle. my ovaries hurt a bit when ovulating and sure enough, I felt them last week. so those things don't change until either the ovaries are gone or your post menopausal.

With time it is possible the PMS will slow down. A couple of suggestions from my GYN included a low dose birth control pill and avoiding foods that are high in plant estrogen such as yams.

Do you still get all the PMS symptoms around your period time?

Hi,
I got all the pms symptoms without the period last month (2 wks after surgery) I asked Dr. about it at pre-op appt. and he said that it means my ovaries are working and yes, I will have pms w/out period because I still ovulate.

I remember telling my DH that the good was that I wouldn't have a period anymore but I would still get PMS. His response was, "lucky me".

Good luck.

uh-oh... please tell me none of you get cramps... I don't see how you CAN get cramps without the uterus, but now you have me worried. If I hadn't had the TVH April 3 I would've started a period right about now; so far none of the normal pms symptoms. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Before surgery, my doc said keep the ovaries, despite my previous doc saying take everything including the ovaries. (I had an endo ablation last May that worked for 6 months; my last doc, who moved from MA to CA, and I had a lot of discussions about what to do back then. Thought the ablation was the right choice... not! Well, I suppose it was at the time.)

I am so glad I am not the only one. I was starting to wonder. I still have one ovary and have all of the usual monthly symptoms without the bleeding. It's nice to know I'm not alone.

Im happy you girls did not bleed. I was not that lucky (had my TAH on 3/27/08) and on 3/3 i started bleeding not heavy very lightly. I went to see my doc on 3/7 and he said it is normal after surgery some women will and some wont. But i guess in due time it will end that what i have to keep telling myself.
