help for genital irritation

I 've posted before regarding my yeast infection that would not go away with my external dermatitis. I was given good advice by many sisters to help with the yeast. 3 weeks ago all my cultures and swabs came back normal. Finally. Doc says nothing is going on inside.
BUT, I still have burning externally. At my vaginal opening the area is very red, like I have a red stripe on each side. Doc is still treating the area with gentian violet. Could I have external yeast? That's what the doc seems to think. This has been going on for almost 3 months now. Anyone else had dermatits or whatever from a horrible yeast infection?

Thanks all.

help for genital irritation

Gosh, I am shy and this is a problem I am experiencing as well.
Problem is that my Doc does not find anything positively identifiable on tests so she won't give any meds or any clues on how to deal with this VERY irritating secondary frustration.
I wish I had an answer I most certainly will share if I find one

Thanks for sharing I thought I was the only one!

have you ladies tried going to a dermatologist for this? if my obgyn is not treating this correctly and there is nothing wrong inside, then I would go to a female dermatologist and see what she would say......hope this helps.

I don't know what your doctor had you on for the yeast infection but I had very similar symptoms to yours. (I didn't even think that it was a yeast infection because I had no discharge.) My doctor thought that it probably was. She treated me with Monistat so that I could apply it externally as well as internally. I know a lot of ladies here have been treated with the one-dose Diflucan and it worked, but my doctor wanted me to use the cream even though it meant inserting something into my vagina and I was less than 6 weeks post-op. For me it did the trick. Both internally and externally my symptoms were gone. Hope that helps.

Blessings, Lisa
