Da Vinci Robotic Hysterectomy

Hi everyone. Has anyone out there had their hysterectomy performed this way? I had my surgery 2/20. Most of the surgery was performed using the robot. However, it had to be completed transabominally. How long did it take to get the feeling back in their belly/pelvic area? That bothers me more than anything else. Also, I have a lot of lower abdominal and pelvic pressure when urinating. I did have a urinary tract infection post op. I had a CT Scan while still in the hospital and just recently another test for the urinary tract. Everything has been normal. Will this sensation ever go away? To be honest, the actual hysterectomy was a piece of cake compared to the discomforts post op. If anyone out there has had the same experiences, please let me know how you are doing? Thank you.

Da Vinci Robotic Hysterectomy

I had abdominal surgery 20 years ago. That incision site has felt weird ever since--kind of like it isn't there--not numb, but just not there at all. This surgery was a total abdominal hyst due to the size of my uterus. My doc said he cut in the same spot and in doing so cut out the old scar. I was told 20 years ago that my feeling there wouldn't come back because of all the nerves they cut thru. Sorry, that's my experience. It sure beats all the pain of periods, though!! And it's just a small area around the incision that feels weird.

Thanks for the reply. I had a UTI post op. That was worse than the actual surgery. At least I know others have experienced the same thing.
