vaginal cuff feeling after silver nitrate

Yes, after being good and following all the rules, I failed to realize, even going up and down stairs (multiple times in a short period of time) can over do it!!
The doc check'ed my cuff, and thank-goodness NO ripping or torn stiches, but there was bleeding. She treated with the silver nitrate, and now my vagina feels like I have something in it. It is very uncomfortable...tell me someone else has had this feeling. I hate calling the doc (mine is on vacation so I have to talk with a stranger - nice stranger- but not my doc)

vaginal cuff feeling after silver nitrate

I have a vaginal cuff infection. I read that if it doesn't heal that it will have to be treated with silver nitrate. I'm glad you posted this because I was wondering how this worked. I also followed all the rules and have NOT had sex. I don't know how this happened. I have bleeding and lots, lots of discharge.

How did she put in on? Hopefully someone will be along that can tell us more about it. I hope you feel better soon.

SW34
she applied it with a long, large cotton swab (she opened my vagina like they do when you have a PAP.
I read a little about silver nitrate. I am now thinking the uncomfortableness I am feeling, is due to the caustic nature of the product. I just was feeling so good. Now my vagina hurts and even sitting is uncomfortable, so back to laying in bed

FYI, the uncomfortable pain I was having all day, is gone. I took two Advil, and just have been laying down. i got up to use the bathroom, and realized all was good. I am not going to jump into anything...but I thought you would want to know the pain from the silver nitrate is over.

Yea I'm so glad your pain is gone! We don't need anymore pain, we've all had enough. How long (how many days) did you have the pain fro the silver nitrate? Maybe your body was just reacting to something new, something it was not used to? Glad your feeling better...better days here we come!

I had problems with infections after my surgery, vaginal antibiotics were tried, then massive doses of oral ones that made me smell like rotten grapefruit from my pores.. ayway, putting anythig into the vagina after such a surgery, basically for a long time afterwards, feels weird, and possibly even wrong.. I have not had this treatement you describe, but my policy is better safe than sorry, and talk to your doctor, or the nice stranger. You do not want to have further complications under any circumstances if you can avoid it, after all.
