who else is 4 months out?

Just wondering how everyone who had surgery back in Dec. 07 or early Jan is doing?

Most days, I'm doing well, and EVER SO THANKFUL for my surgery....the dr, the nurses, the hospital, etc.

But every now & then, I still have tummy troubles and pain in my abdomen.

How are my Dec/Jan sisters?

who else is 4 months out?

Hi,
Can't believe how fast all this has went. I'm doing really good and pretty much back to normal. I'm still cautious, I guess it's gotten to be a habit.

Some days I think, OK when is my period going to start, sounds weird. I don't miss that at all.

I'm not sorry at all that I made the decision to have this done. I've not had any pain or complications to speak of.

Is the pain your having, while your doing something that's straining?

Glad to hear you're doing well. I'm like you, every now & then I realize, Hey, I haven't had a period in weeks! How cool!!!! I gave all my "stuff" away to another friend....hee, hee, but had to keep some for my pre-teen daughter who should be starting any day now....

And the pain is odd......just at random places (side, middle of tummy, other side, lower abdomen) and doesn't seem to be related to any particular activity. This past week, there have been times it's felt almost as bad as when I 1st came home from the hospital. But I don't know if it's all related to the surgery or not. My dr. has given me an appetite suppressant to help me lose weight (I've lost almost 20 lbs--yipee! lots more to go!), so I just don't know what's what. It's just that the pains are similar to the post-surgery stuff.

My energy level is great, don't seem to be having any hormonal problems (kept my ovaries), and overall, I feel 10 years younger!!!!

I am also 4 months out and have no regrets. I've recovered quickly and have had no complications. I do still have the swelly belly and wonder if that will ever completely go away. I think your body/metabolism changes after surgery. Wish I would have known this before and maybe I would have stuck it out longer. The belly that I thought would be flat again is actually even bigger now.

Hey....I am 6 months out and physically I feel fantastic! I am back to running, working, and I have a great sexual appetite! tee-hee
My only complaint is that I have been having acne breakouts and hair thinning issues...but I am told that this is normal after surgery.....the anesthesia is probably whats causing the hair thinning....and I'm assured that it will grow back, and the acne could be a hormonal issue...I am still checking into that one! Other than that I'm doing great! Until my hormones balance out...I guess I will be a baldheaded, acne proned, over sexed woman!! LOL

I still have a little pooch as well...but fortunately it is much smaller than it was and now that I have been able to add crunches into my workout...it's getting even smaller!

I guess the old saying that "Time heals all wounds" would apply to a Hyster as well!! LOL

My doc told me that I would probably have the pouch forever... I am intending to prove him wrong... We need to get and anti-pouch club going and talk about what we do to reduce it...

I agree!!!! I've decided the stupid thing is NEVER going away!!!! I've lost close to 20 lbs in the last couple of months, and yet STILL have a belly!!! I wonder what it would be like W/O the swelly belly!

And I've noticed my sex life has improved, too. No more worries/hassles! Just fun!

Hi Everyone: I'm about 4 1/2 mos and feel great, no complications, no HRT. Went back to work at 6 weeks. I'm down about 10lbs, and exercising like crazy. I do, though, still get a swelly-belly at times especially at night and my incision (vertical) sometimes itches . Otherwise, don't miss my uterus, cervix or ovaries. My mood is good, and my family loves me again !!! NO more PMS!!!!
