who else is 4 months out?

My TVH was on Jan 21. I am doing great! I've almost resumed all activities except feeding animals which requires carrying heavy feed buckets. I'll do that later
I'm glad to see that most everyone are doing good and returning to normal. I am happy to say that since my surgery I feel so much better. It's really nice not to have the heavy periods, cramps, backaches, etc...every six days. I am very thankful for having surgery and very grateful to be a part of hyster sisters. I do not get a chance to get on the computer every day there is too much to do outside but when I do I always visit hyster sister to see if I can help another sister.
Thank you to each of you!!!

who else is 4 months out?

I am almost 3 months out, hopefully that is close enough for this thread :-). My recovery was mostly uneventful, thankfully. I was reading through this thread and saw that I was not alone in some of the issues I have been having. The pouch, ugh been exercising more and more but feel like I am growing. I have also noticed my hair thinning a bit, NEVER realized this was a possibility due to surgery. Another item was the acne, OMG it is worse than when I was 14! On top of that I am single and the sex drive has skyrocketed, not helpful! I have also noticed a significant slow down in the bowels for which I have a Dr appointment with my PCP tomorrow, guess I will need to ask her about this other stuff too.
Glad we are all recovering well for the most part, keep up the pampering!

who else is 4 months out?

I am not quite 4 months but getting there! My how time flies. When I read some of the posts about initial post-op concerns, I find myself having a hard time recalling all of those moments.

I had 2 experiences this past week that really put it into perspective for me. #1 I went into the OB/GYN for testing for blood in the urine (I am sure it is unrelated to the surgery) and the nurse asked me when was my last monthly period. I just smiled at her with a toothy grin and she got it. I elatedly told her, I HAVE NO IDEA! Woo hoo! #2 A co-worker who had the same procedure as me asked how I am feeling and it felt great to report to her that I feel wonderful. No one has asked me that in a while so I never had the opportunity to say it. I wanted to scream it from the rooftops! I FEEL GREAT!

Now if I could lose 10 pounds, get this cystoscopy behind me and figure out the blood in urine issue, I will be 100%!!!

who else is 4 months out?

Hi Ladies,

I am about 3 months post-op and am doing pretty good except that I get lower back pain in the afternoons. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I think it is because it had to support the huge swelly belly for so long! Take care everyone - I guess feelling "great" is still a journey.

OMG...the hair thinning is driving me crazy and the acne is starting to subside a bit...I have been piling on the Proactive acne medication and it has been helping and I also started taking Vitamins B6 and 12 for the hair issues...so hopefully this will stop my hair from coming out! I am hoping that I don't have to take hormone treatment pills! I will keep you posted! Oh and the libido thing is off the charts too...but thankfully I have someone that can take care of that regularly!! Lol

Keep your head up...we will get thru this!

who else is 4 months out?

I haven't had problems w/the hair thinning (it was already getting thin in one spot before surgery, but nothing new since), but I have had quite a bit of trouble w/constipation lately. I'll have to ask dr. about that when I go in next week.

I'm still SO glad I had the surgery and am like y'all, I love to be able to say that I FEEL GREAT!!!!!! And yeah, no monthly nightmares anymore!!!!!!

who else is 4 months out?

I have a question for you ladies - my job is event oriented and I have a big one coming up the next 2 weekends. Basically I end up working 3 or 4 weeks in a row, some days are 12 hours, a few are 4 hour days. This past week I've been working 8 hour days (under stress) and I am just exhausted. I don't know how I'm going to get thru the 3 12 to 14 hour days coming up this weekend. Is it just that I'm "old" or is the exhaustion still due to the surgery and recovery? The past 2 nights after work I was home for an hour or so and went to bed. I hope I can do this - thanks - Mariah
