keep the vagina cleansed?

LAdies, How can after having the vaginal cuff, can the vagina still maintain its cleansing process and keep it from not drying up and clean?? I mean should a warm water like douche be used to clean it out up there or what?? I have been having some light brownish discharge after 6 weeks. Nothing scarry to worry about BUT i cannot keep taking showers and making sure that its clean and all.. Last week my gyno said it is healing great and to have sex in 2 weeks but how can ya if the area cannot cleanse itself..Please help a frustrated 45 yr old married woman with these issues...Total Hyster via robotic, only 3 tiny incisions made so I have no scars, nothing done vaginally or to all my pals DONNA.

keep the vagina cleansed?

Hi Donna
The vagina is an amazing self-cleaning organ. A little discharge doesn't make you "dirty" it is just natural. Ask your Gyn but I think that the advice is not to mess with the PH level in your vagina it really does clean itself.

keep the vagina cleansed?

Hi Donna. I too was worried about the discharge after my hyst and I did have an infection. If its smelly or it seems unusual to you, talk to your doctor about it. A quick swab test and they'll know right away. I too was told that our Vs are self-cleaning and that we will be shedding skin after our hysts. Atleast me since I had a lot of excisions due to endo. Hang in there!

keep the vagina cleansed?

I had a discharge for 8 weeks. At the start it was dots of blood, changed to slightly smelly & yellowish/brownish, changed to clear almost like peeing amount. Then just normal discharge like before the hyst. Everyone one is different. Of course mine stopped RIGHT AFTER I had bought a new box of panty liners!

Good luck!

keep the vagina cleansed?

One of my gynecologists years ago told me to eat yogurt regularly to keep my female organs in good health. So now I have added Activia to my diet - helping other digestive issues as well!
