LSH kept ovaries and cervix - anyone else

I had a laproscopic supracervical hysterectomy and kept both ovaries. Just wondering if there is anyone else with this to compare recovery with.

Thanks!

LSH kept ovaries and cervix - anyone else

Hi
I had my LSH on March 31st. I also kept my ovaries and cervix. I am doing great - in fact I'm probably doing more then I should. I go for my post-op checkup on wednesday so hopefully I will get the all clear. How are you doing? Was your surgery and recovery better or worse then what you thought?

LSH kept ovaries and cervix - anyone else

I had a LSH keeping both cervix and both ovaries. This coming Thursday will be 3 weeks post op. I'm doing really well. I've been going out for walks and yesterday me and my husband went out to eat and then went to the mall and walked around for an hour or so and I felt great no pain twinges at all.

I have been taking 1 ibuprofen in the morning and 1 in the evening. I'm going to try to go without any pain meds today and see how that goes. I've mostly just had pain twinges around the left incision which is normal after talking to my doctor and also others on this board.

How have you been doing?

I'm so glad to read your reports of how well you're doing -- I had my LSH on Friday, 4/11 and just came home yesterday (Sunday) morning.

My left side incision is still really tender, but the meds and being home and walking around are helping some with that.

I still haven't had a BM, and as far as passing gas... well, just little *puffs* so far, and only when I'm on the toilet. I think I would feel a lot better if I could really let out a big *HONK*, you know? LOL!

Still taking stool softeners and drinking lots of water and oatmeal with prunes.

i am doing well - lots of support.

however, I feel "off" not really pain but tired...and achy. When i ealk i feel like i have to support my stomach and often like things are moving around....

When i have the sensation to pee (full bladder) it feels like a differnt location than before the surgery.

I have had a headache and nausea for last two days...waiting to hear back from doc.
i sometimes cannot imagine why i would need to be off for four weeks and cannot wait to get off of couch and out of house. however, so far a shower has exhausted me and kept me home. And other times, like now i feel horrible...but not from incisions or real pain just not right...

I am sure this was the right thing....just starting to worry about the off and on feelings...feel great feell like hell....and wondering if i am not experiencing couch depression....

LSH kept ovaries and cervix - anyone else

Hi y'all, this is my first post. My LSH was a week ago today. I've had similar experiences to all of you. Not terrible pain, but definitely not feeling great. I'm especially woozy in the mornings and better in the afternoons. I'm supposed to be off work 2 weeks. so I'm hoping I will feel much better by the end of this week! I have improved a lot in a week's time. Hang in there with the stool softeners, it took me a few days, but what a relief. Is anyone else still suffering from the CO gas bubble in their gut? Mine has still not gone away.

Just wanted to mention for me prune juice worked much better then prunes. I have both. I haven't needed them since week 1 though. The prune juice would have me going within an hour diarrhea though but I didn't mind I was just glad I wasn't experiencing the constipation that so many people talk about. I was able to go since coming home from the hospital and it was the prune juice. I have the tendency to get very loose stools though if I eat the wrong thing for years now.

I'm getting couch boredom. I want to wash my floors and vacuum the crumbs off of my couch but I'll be waiting the full 6 weeks just to be on the careful side. I've read many posts about people who have had a LSH being cleared at two weeks and then they go do something and causes pain and end up in bed for two days.

Today I'm going to go out for a half hour walk outside. I do go slower then I would normally walk before. I normally walk pretty fast though.

I had the CO gas in me until about 1 1/2 weeks it went away. I could feel it had gone to my shoulders.

Hi Ladies

I am two weeks out from having surgery and although I feel a lot better than what I thought, I too get very tired. Are any of you having problems fitting into your pants? I had to go out and buy a couple pairs of elastic pants. I too was getting couch depressed and found that I HAVE to get out of the house. I have my mom take me out to walk in stores ( I haven't been cleared to drive yet).
As far as constipation -- I felt so much better after I went. Just keep drinking a lot of water, walk, and drink prune juice. Oh and I took a stool softner just to help (and it did ).

I had a LSH back in December and it took about 2 - 3 for recovery. I was released at my 4 week checkup..
