LSH kept ovaries and cervix - anyone else

At my pre-op appointment the nurse told me that even after you've healed the fatigue factor lingers, for as much as a few months. I'm still in the pajama pants and sweats stage, but I have to go back to work in a week and I'm not sure what I can wear. I can't imagine anything tight for some time, too tender.

It really helps to hear from all of you and know that I'm progressing about the same. So much of the info out there is more focusing on the TAH. I feel very lucky to have had the option of LSH.

I feel very lucky too that they were able to do the LSH. The first thing I remember when waking up was the doctor telling me that they almost had to open me up because they found 100 marble size fibroids on the inside and all over the outside of my uterus and the whole mess was adhered to the front abdomen area. My doctor said they decided to keep working on it to get the uterus out laparascopically and I am so glad they did.

I too have been having a swelly belly. I wonder how long that lasts with the LSH.

LSH kept ovaries and cervix - anyone else

Hi - I had my LSH on April 1st and I'm feeling great. I was driving by April 7th, just a short trip to meet my friend for lunch. I will go back to work tomorrow. I was off pain meds within 2 days and only taking ibuprofen 1 -2x per day. I was lucky and didn't experience the CO pains and drank prune juice right away and did not experience constipation after 2 days. I feel very fortunate. Thank goodness for modern medicine. It's hard to believe that they took a uterus that was 16 weeks in size out through my belly button. DH and I did go to Costco and did a lot of other errands yesterday and today I am feeling a little more sore than normal. So that goes to show you TAKE IT EASY even if you feel 100%! Good luck with your recoveries. ilovegolf

LSH kept ovaries and cervix - anyone else

Hello Ladies!

Just a quick update - turns out I was a little dehydrated...I also had a good BM this morning...so after that and hydration i feel great!

Went short trip to Walmart today...i also took a walk in the yard in the sunshine!

Feel normal again ...just a bit tired.

Also, i had not experienced an CO gas pain until this afternoon...it feels like it is stuck below my breat bone...little uncomfortable but no pain meds all day.

S friend is driving me o run some arrands tommorow and check in on my businesses...(surprise) plan to make it very short and sweet and maybe enjoy some of this time off now that i am feeling better.

DH is sticking to the docs orders regarding housework and driving out of fear i will not be cleared at my appointment before a planned vacation (says he would hate to go to beach and me not be able to go into ocean, pool or have sex!) Cracks me up...i amsure he is thinking of me!

Anyway - 1 week today and turned a corner overnight!

Hello Ladies !
I go tomorrow for my two week checkup. Wish me luck I am hoping that I will get the ok to drive. I think I may have done to much today. I feel very tired. It's strange - - at times I feel really good and than I get really tired. Has anyone else experienced this? Also how long did it take for you to wear "normal" pants again? I am still swollen and it's 2 wks out.

Thanks for your replies and I'll let you know how my doc. appt. goes

Good luck at your two week appointment. I drove myself to my two week post op appt. It's only a couple blocks from my house though. They said I could drive when I wasn't taking any prescription pain meds anymore. I didn't really feel safe until two weeks though.

I'm 3 weeks post op and my belly is still swollen. I even lost 6 lbs since my surgery so I know it's just the dreaded swelly belly. I did a search today on LSH and swelly belly and it can last a while even with a LSH. I'm wondering when I'll be able to wear my normal pants again too.

I'm 9 days out and definitely am experiencing the up and down. I find if I do too much I start to feel a little queasy. I rest for a bit and then feel much better. I'm actually pretty nervous about going back to work full time next week. I have a 30+ minute commute each way so I can't just run home if I have a sinking spell.

Has anyone else had any hormonal issues? I kept my ovaries and cervix as well, but have been getting hot flashes at night since the surgery. I think my ovaries are in shock!
