Almost cleared for sex and terrified of tearing vaginal cuff!

soloved, those darned a/p repairs do add to the dilemma! It took awhile for me, but it all worked out, and now things are fine. I had to look at it almost like a project for awhile....like I was doing it to get through it, so it could get better...does that make sense.

Best wishes to you...I know it's worrisome! You'll get through it though, and if you're like me, it will be the last step to total recovery and a better life all-around!

Almost cleared for sex and terrified of tearing vaginal cuff!

hi,
I waited until the 12 week mark just to be sure and to make sure I had healed all I could, I did not want to end up back in the hospital or having any issues or problems. Finally I had to give in and it was o.k. I hurt a bit but had no bleeding or any problems after and I am glad for that. I feel pretty good about my decision on waiting for the 12 weeks. you might not be ready so take your time, You'll get there. Good luck!

teecher-thanks for the advice--yes making it a project makes perfect sense-I think I might be more comfortable waiting a bit longer. I'll keep y'all posted.

Thanks for your replies ladies. When we do try to resume our sex life, I will take all the advice into account.

I finally told DH about my fears. He was very reassuring. He said he loves me and regardless of whatever happens in that area, he would still love me and that we will get through it together. If it does happen to me, I guess I will just have to deal withit at that time, but till then I pray that it won't. I think I may wait another week or two before trying, just to give myself extra time to heal.

Thanks again and I welcome more replies!

Almost cleared for sex and terrified of tearing vaginal cuff!

Great thread- thank you to everyone who has posted.

I am in my 9th week post-op(TVH), and my doctor cleared me for sex 3 weeks ago. I'm still a little scared because I have been treated for granulation a few times, but am told I am healing nicely.

It's nice to hear everyone's stories, and to know that I'm not the only one who feels this way. Hubby is very understanding.

The odd thing is that, the last time I saw my doctor, she actually was sort of nudging me towards having intercourse. Truthfully, I'm still not ready and really want to be more completely healed before I feel really comfortable doing it.

Listening to you makes me feel like I'm doing the right thing. I thank you for that, ladies.

Cheers,
Nancy
