Hey Ladies.....Come on now, be creative, one goal of this site (I think) and certainly a goal of mine, is to help people look forward to LAF (life after fibroids...and I know that's not the reason why all of you are here, but LAF is funny!)

What are your plans, for post-op?? and 'recovering', 'getting in touch with myself/my family', 'enjoying my time at home with myself/my pets/my family' are NOT acceptable answers, as we ALL are doing some version of this.
What are you REALLY going to do??? C'mon, share.

(for those who missed the thread this came from, I plan to learn how to tie flies, and work on setting up an ebay store.)

Would you believe - Learn how to reverse engineer malicious code? I work in computer security and thought this would be a good time to sit in bed (or kitchen table) and try to learn a new skill.

Or maybe just read romance novels

I am going to rewrite my address box!! Okay, you are all wondering if that was a typo ... no, I use a recipe box with recipe cards for my addresses. I am going to rewrite all the cards and organize things ... Oh and read mags.

I am an organize freak so whatever organzing I can do sitting down in bed (where my hubby says he is going to handcuff me so I will rest).

I am going to use my enforced down time to work on my master's thesis! Doesn't THAT sound like fun?!

I used my down time to watch all of my Jane Austen videos and to find dresses on sale online so I would look presentable when I returned to work. Good luck with the fly tieing, Laurie.

I will be sewing a couple of ring bearer pillows for a friend of mine for her upcoming wedding & will be making my final plans for my trip to the Kalahari desert in September with I am going on a 2 week Meerkat research expedition & now that I won't have to worry about scheduling my trip around my period I can put my plans into motion by booking my travel dates, renewing my passport & all that goes into traveling abroad.

I hope to go the last week of the September because I will be turning 40 at that time. I can't imagine a bigger "bang" than that to celebrate & not having to worry about bleeding like a stuck pig with no bathroom for miles in the hot sun chasing after meerkats makes it all the more reason to celebrate!!

Tallulahbird, that sounds like a great 40th!!! I can sympathize about traveling abroad while bleeding like a stuck pig. My decision to proceed with the hysterectomy was made during a 2 week mission trip to Honduras, during which I bled like a stuck pig the entire time. Needless to say, it was not always easy to find convenient facilities, not to mention we had no hot water the entire time! What a trip!
