Abdominal bruising

Had a TVH last Friday the 18th and no one ever told me that I might have a totally bruised belly! Boy was I surprised last night getting ready for bed--freaked me out, so I called the doctor who said it was normal--anyone else have this happen?

Bruising

Make your doctor see you. It could be normal or it could be a hematoma. I left the hospital without a bruise and by the next morning I was completely bruised on the right side. I still have bruising and internal bleeding and it has been over 6 weeks. The doctor won't know for sure unless he checks you. Please get it checked.

Abdominal bruising

I had bruising and my doctor showed me that it was the surgeons hand holding my abdomen when he did my gall bladder before my gyn started the hyster. And the little bruise spots matched up with a thumb and three fingers!

But I would ask your doctor

Abdominal bruising

I am completely bruised! My doctor said it was because I had so much endo to cut out, plus my uterus was stuck to my colon. Take care!

Abdominal bruising

I had massive bruise on one side of my body (not near my lap incisions). First few days this was more sore than the incisions. Figured it was just holding and positioning during my surgery that went for twice as long as it was supposed to. It is healing very well and only very faint now 4 weeks on.

Cheers

Abdominal bruising

I freaked out too about my bruised belly from TAH. My nurse friends tell me that during the surgery my belly is stretched open for a considerable amount of time and then you have to realize how much digging around they are doing to remove your organs.

I had additional bruising due to the lovenox belly shots (blood thinner) I received for nine days.

My DR and nurse friends, who looked at my belly, said my bruising was normal and that it actually looked good.

At a bit more than 3 weeks post-op the bruising is finally 98% gone.

What I hate is this belly roll that I fear will remain after the swelly belly is gone. A few women that are years post-op tell me the roll is permanent

Abdominal bruising

O, yes the bruising is terrible I had a SAH, and the worst bruising was on the top of my crotch, it was purple, doc said he had to dig around to get ahold of my uterus and check everything over to see if anything else had to come out, thank god it didn't!. But yeah it was bad, but is better now that I'm 5 wks post op and its all but gone!..good luck!

hoping you have a GREAT day!

Abdominal bruising

My dr was a friend of ours and he apologied on the bruising that I had. The bruising went from under my breast to the top of my pubic hair line then from one side to another. With in 2 days from being home from the hospital it all turned black!!! The doctor explained that my uterus was attached to my stomach lining and there was more tugging then he expected and that the surgery took long then expected. I had a LVH on Dec. 7th. 2007

I had a TVH on the 17th and I have a small bruise on my belly button. Even though the bruise is small my whole belly button area hurts. It sounds like you have a lot more than that but I thought it would I share.
