Laparoscopic hysterectomy ~ questions

Hi, everyone. Anyone else have a laparoscopic hyst and keep her cervix? If so, did your discharge last beyond two weeks? Tomorrow is my two week post-op date and I'm not getting the feeling that the discharge is going to suddenly stop.

Thanks,

We've many ladies who had laparoscopic procedures and I hope they'll be along soon to share.

In the meantime, if you're at all concerned about the discharge, please don't hesitate to contact your doctor.

Sending all good wishes for a smooth recovery!

Laparoscopic hysterectomy ~ questions

Is your discharge blood? I had a LSH on Monday and only had a small amount of watery blood discharge while in the hospital. Nothing since I've been home.
Good luck!

Laparoscopic hysterectomy ~ questions

I had my LSH on Monday and haven't had any discharge since Wednesday. And it's been clear, no blood. My doc did say to not be surprised with discharge for a few weeks though. I wouldn't worry too much unless it is very bloody. I read somewhere on here that the stitches dissolving inside cause a discharge too.

Laparoscopic hysterectomy ~ questions

I had mine on Wednesday and haven't had any discharge since yesterday morning. I was told I could have some from one week to 4 weeks starting at bloody going to a yellowish discharge. If you have any concerns call your doctor, when I had my ablation I did that, and found what I was worrying about was actually normal. They were happy to answer my question.

Good luck

I had my LSH kept my cervix 4 weeks ago. I started having discharge/spotting brownish blood on Tuesday. It seems to be slowing down now. It was a very small amount only needed a pantyliner. I hear that there can be spotting for up to 6 weeks.

I had my LSH last one week ago, and my discharge just ended. I'm sure that everyone is different. It helps to speak to your doctor if you are concerned. Good Luck!

Laparoscopic hysterectomy ~ questions

Well, I am envious of all you fortunate women who have only had discharge for a short time. I had virtually nothing for 3 days post-op and then it picked up to this "cervix cautery" (requiring a regular pad) discharge which has now lasted 11 days and counting. It does seem darker now, so maybe I'm having some of the "healing and moving" blood drainage as well???

I emailed my doctor (550 miles away since I chose a specialist) and he said to see my local gyn - but I don't have one anymore (long story of negligent and bad doctors). So, since I am only having pain twinges and otherwise managing well, I will wait since many of you say the discharge can last longer for some women.

Thanks a bunch for the replies.

I'm at my 5 week. I had discharge (small amount - clear) for about 3 weeks. My doctor wasn't concerned. I kept my cervix also. Keep a smile on, and if you are at all concerned, please contact your doc or the nurse. They (at least mine) are always happy to answer questions. There are a lot of ladies out there like us, so it's ok to ask them.

I had LAVH 2 weeks ago (took cervix and one ovary/tube). I have spotting that seems to have picked up some. It's a very small amount, but enough to require a thin pad. I think I've been overdoing it a bit.
