Vaginal discharge...TMI ALERT!!!!

Hey Again! This is a very graphic post.... I was wondering if any other sisters had this....I am just about 2 weeks post-op (4/14) and I have had a really good side effect, I think....Ever since I was a little girl, I have always had a really heavy vaginal discharge....Mom took me to the DR and he said its normal, just heavy...I have always been a bit self conscious becuse I have been wearing panty liners, everyday, since I was 10 years old...if I did not wear a panty liner, I would have a wet spot on my was that heavy...well, I thought nothing of it until I noticed after my hysterectomy, I do not have this HEAVY discharge...I have , I guess, what a normal vaginal discharge is....I am "moist" down there, but not overly so and my natural "smell" is so much better...this is an absoutely fantasstic side effect of the surgery and I can only guess it is becasue of the uterus/cervix I assume that "regular" hysterectomy ladies are now a bit dry, huh? I know I will probably have to start using a lube when I have sex...what is a good one...I scanned the "lube aisle" and I swear I felt like I was in a sex shop, but I was only in Wal-Mart!!!! And of course, I live in a small town, and the only time people want to talk with me is when I am next to hemorroid cream or yeast cream!!! Just tell me some suggestions...thaks ladies!

Vaginal discharge...TMI ALERT!!!!

I have always been in the same boat as you and actually my vaginal moisture has gone down some but during sex it's the same as it ever was. If your on HRT don't be surprised if it goes back to it's "normal" amount. I was able to go without panties my first 3 weeks (Oh the liberation!) and thought it was the best thing ever but has my hormones evened out I noticed my vaginal discharge increase.

Vaginal discharge...TMI ALERT!!!!

Hi Rachael!

My doctor suggested Astroglide as a good personal lubricant to use and of the ones I have tried, it's the one I like best. You should be able to find it at Wal-Mart or any drug store.

You may want to order a variety of free samples online which you should be able to find using a search engine such as Google and typing in "free personal lubricant samples". After your doctor gives you the all clear for sex, you can figure out which works best for you and then buy it if you need it.

I hope this helps!

Southern Spice, I have had the same experience although my pre-suprgery discharge was perhas a tad lighter than yours.

At my 2 week post op, the doctor did a pelvic exam and I could tell I am not dry there - it was not at all uncomfortable.

April Dawn, thanks for the suggestion on the free samples. When the big day arrives, I would like to have something on hand just in case.

Vaginal discharge...TMI ALERT!!!!

Hi girls
I use JO H2O, bought at CVS. It is expensive but I like it because it is not sticky, and doesn't make me feel a "burning" sensation.
I always used it before, will continue to do so.
