Help! I Need Tips On Shaving Bikini Area

I've noticed several of you have mentioned being regular shavers "down there". I've never done it, but would like to try. My DH and I both liked it after I came out of surgery that way. I am all about inexpensive stuff, so I won't go pay someone alot of money for waxing or whatever. Any tips, explanations, instructions would be greatly appreciated!! Where else but hystersisters could I feel comfortable asking this type of question?!?! Thanks!!

Help! I Need Tips On Shaving Bikini Area

I kept very little if no hair "down there", for as long as I can remember... what I've found over the years is that it is best to use a good men's razor... I personally prefer the "Gillette Fusion" and then just my Summer's Eve soap. Since pubic hair is coarser like a man's beard, I've learned to take tips from my man and shave much like he does. I always save shaving that area for last, and I always do any washing prior to shaving (otherwise it might burn if you do nick yourself). If you save it for last, then the hair has had time to soften from the heat of your shower or bath... until you get comfortable with it, you should probably shave with the direction of the growth of your hair, but as you get comfy, you will be able to do it against, which gives a smoother finish. In the past, I've used a hand mirror to help me see where I was shaving, and even employed the help of my BF to reach areas that I might not see... this makes for interesting foreplay. You might find that after the first few times, that you itch really bad as the hair grows back, but if you keep at it, that goes away. I feel much cleaner with no hair and my BF loves it. Good Luck

Help! I Need Tips On Shaving Bikini Area

i too am new at this grooming experience, always trimmed to look neat down there , but now i want to do a little more.. i shaved alot off, but i hate the itchy , stubles... i find every other day i need to shave again...I too use a mans shaver and shaving cream(dont get menthol) found that out the hard way...owwww,,,,,i shaved in the shower, i bought a waxing kit but i am afriad to use it untill my incision heals ...i waxed my legs and it was torture,,aaaagghhh, my gosh it had to be a man that thought of waxing. i did 1 strip and thought OMG i cant do the rest... i got the courage to finish.. but i loved how it lasted(hair free) for so much longer then shaving, and the hair didnt come in like sand paper.. sssooooo now i have the bright idea of my pubs... i swear i am a cave woman so this ought to be a wonderful experience... boo hoo...

I don't shave completely bare (I don't like it when it starts to grow back and don't have the time to shave the bikini area every day) but I trim VERY short. I use an electric shaver.

I shelled out some $$ and got most of the hair down there lasered off ... (along with arm pits) and it's the best money I have ever spent. I didn't do a full laser as I stopped at the labia but I did the front and down on either side of my legs. it was very painful but they give you numbing lotion that somehow helped along with ibuprofen. so when I want it all gone, I just do a brazilian (which is what I did pre-op). I love, love, love not itching like I did with shaving. I do have strays but compared to what it was like before, this is nothing. and the place where I did it does free touch ups for life, so I do go back every now and then as needed. I think the whole thing cost me about $500 per area.
