The Funny Things Drugs Make You Say!

My hubby just let me hear a message I left on his cell while in hospital where I said;

"Would you please call me back in my 'hotel' room?"

He also reminded me while in hospital I said;

"Honey, you will need to wear your capris to England."

AND

I said , "How much should we give them?"

My hubby said, "pardon?"

I said, "Santa and Frosty ... I was thinking $100.00."

I am laughing so hard it hurts!
Did you say anything funny? Please share?

Hugs,
Tracy

The Funny Things Drugs Make You Say!

The day after surgery my sister called from KY, asking me how I was doing.....
I said: "I will call you back, the nurse said I have to sleep now."

The nurse didn't say anything like that. I don't even remembered her calling me. The same thing happend with my Mom who called from Germany. They both waited for days for me to call them back. And I was wondering why they had not called. lol. Well, they finally called me again and told me about it.
My DR came to check up on me and told me stuff about the surgery, and that there was some kind of zyst;

I asked: "Did you blow it up? Good DR."
Then I asked: " Why did I have a barrel stuck in me?" He said, he had never heard anybody ask that one, with a big smile in his face.
I certainly felt like that though, even several days later.

oh my, I really embarrased my hubby, would be TMI.

The Funny Things Drugs Make You Say!

The afternoon of my surgery, I was walking around the ward and wandered back to my roomette, where my friend Cathi was sitting. I told her, "Your name has the same first four letters as CATHETER so I'm going to call you CATHETER from now on. She reminds me of this almost daily.

I apparently also called her as soon as I got to my roomette and told her, "I have to break out of this joint." And I did, too. LOL

Thanks for the laughs!
I don't remember saying anything funny, but when my parents gave me a large stuffed cat pillow I immediatly grabbed it and held onto to it for dear life. My mom took a picture of me as she said I looked like a little girl laying there in the hospital bed with my "cat"

I'm still pre-op (need to update my date-long story), but I recently had a colonoscopy. After the procedure, I was still laying on my side. As I was waking up (before I opened my eyes), I heard the nurse say to keep my arm still. The arm on top had the blood pressure cuff on it and my arm kept falling off my hip. My response? Why don't you tape my arm there- then it won't fall off anymore.

The worst part is I remember it happening, but had no control over any of it. LOL!

The one thing I remember is yelling at my roommate when she chastised my dh and mil for talking. I said something back to her than passed out. Dh said that even in my drugged stupor I had to have the last word.

Thanks for the chuckle sisters. Gosh, dealing with all this discomfort and the trials and tribulations of surgery it is nice to read something that brings a smile to your face.

funny

Funny. I came home today from my hyster yesterday...

I was way out of it when I was removed to my room. I don't even remember dh being there. They brought me to a room on the maternity floor. I guess I was alert enough to notice there were 2 beds. The next time I came to, dh said I panicked and yelled out "I'm in the wrong room, ...wrong room.." then was asleep again.

They had moved me to the next room, that was private instead of semi private. LOL

I couldn't say who if anyone was there, but I knew enough to see if I had a roommate.LOL

OK.... nothing to do with my hyst, but recently when I had some dental work done, when I was under the influence of the nitrous oxide, I insisted to the entire staff that my cell phone was ringing, and that the ring tone was circus music.

I think this is why they encouraged me to be put to sleep the next time I came to the office.
