Milk of Magnesia question

I came home on Friday and started 2 tablespoons of Milk of Mag. morning and evening. I started "going" on Saturday afternoon. Should I keep taking the Milk of Magnesia to keep things moving?

Milk of Magnesia question

I was taking stool softener (2 pills every morning) I take Colace, and I was drinking prune juice and sometimes fiber one (mixed with water), in two occasions I really had to go but couldnt and was when I took 2 tsp of milk of magnesia,

in other words, I would leave the MM for last resort kinda, but ask your doctor what is best for you, I dont think its a good idea to drink MM very often...

Milk of Magnesia question

Did your DR tell you to take the Milk of Magnesia? Most DRs recommend against taking laxatives to get things going, but prefer that you take stool softeners and let nature take its course instead.

I would call your DR and ask, since you have already been taking it.

Milk of Magnesia question

I Took MOM at the hospital. It works fast for me, and I was in the bathroom constantly.

When I got home I used stool softener so I didn't have diareha (sp?) all the time.

Thanks! The discharge nurse told me to use the MOM. I have started using the stool softener today though.

Milk of Magnesia question

I have enough pain just before the poop ... I couldn't imagine the poop hurting when it came out as I was constipated. I still take about 3 stool softeners per days with my pain meds. I know I am 12 days and still taking pain meds ... I hope to slow them down but what can I say I am a WIMP! I feel I am hurting a lot due to the A & P repair too.

Hugs for you and my stool softeners,
