Read any good books lately?

Hi everyone,

I've had a terrible time finding much information on surgical menopause and how to get through it without hormones, not to mention how to live a long, healthy life without hormones. After ordering about a dozen books online, I finally found one that focuses on us: Sudden Menopause: Restoring Health and Emotional Well-Being by Debbie DeAngelo. Although it has one chapter on HRT, most of the book really concentrates on how to deal with our situation.

Has anyone else come across anything - article, book, or website that was helpful (or hopeful)?

Margaret

COAFMN

Have you found our forum <link> Books We Recommend yet? Over the years, many members have recommended all sorts of books relating to hysterectomy and, hopefully, you'll find some there that will help you.

Sending all good wishes!

There is a website, that's been mentioned on this site as well, called power-surge.com. Also, http://www.geocities.com/NoLinks/ (A Survivor's guide to surgical menopause). In fact, just google surgical menopause and you will get a host of websites. Good luck.
PS: So far the only book I've come across is the one you mentioned.

(((Margaret))), you may want to check out this section of the Resource Database: Hormone Jungle - No Hormones.

The power-surge site mentioned above is actually for women who are in natural menopause rather than for those of us who are in surgical menopause without a uterus.

Naturally I am biased but I think the Hyster Sisters site is the best place on the internet to be.
