I am so confused

I have another question. Can anyone share any positive experiences where they had adenocarcinoma in-situ, had a 2nd lltez loop performed and was fine? If so , can you share your experience? From reading through this message board, it seems that many ended up getting a hyster. anyway down the road. I am scheduled for a second lltez next week but am now thinking that, in the end if I have to get a hyster anyway, lets just do that now (though I dread the thought). I guess I am just hoping people have positive experiences to share. Thank you.

I am so confused

Hello Matilee, so glad that you found us. I only had one letz procedure before my hyster and my dyplasia /CIN3 was so aggressive that the pathologists suggested to go straight for the hyster. It is important to be very informed and to get a second opinion if you need to, then you can make the right decision for you. Hope everything goes well for you, and let us know how you go. Take good care x x

I am so confused

Hi Matilee,

First of all, keep in mind that most of us came to these boards after they learned a hyst was scheduled or recommended. Who knows what the ratio is of people who were successfully treated short of a hyst.

I was dx'd with high grade dysplasia in 1989 and had a cone. I had normal paps for 10 years. When it showed up again we went for the hyst. By that time my decision was a no-brainer as I was post menopausal. 10 yrs ago we didn't have the resources that we have now (the internet) and I just agreed with whatever my dr suggested. I don't know what I would have done "if I knew then what I know now". I agree with Robyn....a 2nd opinion makes a lot of sense to me.

What do you mean if "you knew then what you know now or the resources we have now?" Would you have done things differently? Thanks for your reply!!!
