The dr will probably tell you about the surgery and exactly what will be done, how long for recovery, etc. I had to sign release forms. You may have a pap smear and have blood drawn. I would take a list of all medications you are taking, even vitamins and pain relievers. You should also list any allergies to medications that you have. If you are allergic to any foods you should put that down to. Good luck to you!

{{{Nanaelie}}}

My pre-op labs are consisting of some blood work, chest x-ray and ekg. I am not expecting any other labs to be done at my actual pre-op appointment. I think that is just to discuss procedure, recovery, my questions, etc.

{{{Confused 321}}}

Good luck today!!! Will thinking of you and keeping you in prayer. We are getting closer

Blessings,

What tests will I have at pre-op appointments?

I go for my preop stuff on Friday.

I have the pelvic ultrasound at 11am, doctor's appointment at 1:30, then I go to the hospital to admissions, meet anestheologist, and lab word. I've had a full heart work-up in the last 2 months, so I don't know if I'll have an ekg.

I'm trying to stay calm . . .

What tests will I have at pre-op appointments?

I had an appointment with the doc a week before to just discuss the surgery ect. No pap or anything was done. 3 days before surgery I had to go to the hospital to where everything was gone over again and I had blood drawn, an EKG and a chest xray. That's it.

I had mine done last Thursday and I had blood drawn, ekg and a physical with the physician's assistant. Plus I answered a million questions.

Thanks you all for your responses, I'm feeling a little calmer,because on July 7 , I have to go for a colonoscopy (1 year) checkup,because last year they found polyps that were turning into cancer. So when the polyps returned in three months in my uterus, I began thinking, Oh No, Not again. Hopefully ,nothing is found this time. I just wish I was having it done sooner than later. This way come time for my surgery, I might have some piece of mind.

What tests will I have at pre-op appointments?

I had my pre-op labs done Saturday. They took blood, and did chest x-rays. I talked with a nurse and with an anesthesiologist (who suggested an epidural !?!). I asked lots of questions, confirmed with the nurse that no prep really meant no prep. I'll have a catheter for 24 hours, and probably a pump for pain meds as well.

Good luck!

What tests will I have at pre-op appointments?

I had mine today. I had to answer a lot of history type questions, verify allergies to meds, confirm vaginal hyst. keeping ovaries, blood pressure, etc. I had 2 vials of blood drawn to test blood type, cbc, etc. Dr. answered all my questions. I had a pelvic exam and confirmed I also have a rectocele. (Minor, won't require surgery at this time). Not too bad. I did not have any x-rays at all. I am 34. Hope that helps! Jen
