Will Migraines be GONE???

I have had hormonal migraines from the estrogen dipping twice a month, for years.

I had a TAH and ovaries out six days ago because of big uterus, fibroids, pain etc. But I am HOPING this will also cure my migraine problems.

From what I hear, it will, once the right patch is found. Since the estrogen will be the same each day.

What have you all found. Anyone else used to have terrible migraines? Now better? I am so hopeful.

So far, all is well with my head!

Will Migraines be GONE???

I have suffered with hormonal migraines for years. I had my hysterectomy in Feb. I haven't had one headache, migraine or other, since my surgery. I guess I never even thought about it. Maybe it is true. If it is Let us sisters know if you find out from your doctor.

Will Migraines be GONE???

Hi!

I used to get awful headaches when my hormones fluctuated pre-op. Now that my hormone levels are steady I don't get those headaches unless I am way late in changing my estrogen patch.

I hope you continue to be headache free!

Will Migraines be GONE???

Nice to hear your stories, thank you! My doctor had said once the correct amount of hormones are found, there should not be migraines. It makes sense, unless you get migraines for anohter reason like chocolate etc.

I cannot TELL you how excited I am to hopefully live my life without these horrible migraines. I cannot take meds. for pain so they have been horrible for years.

Glad you all are doing well.

This time last week I was under anesthesia!!! I am one week out now.

Re: Will Migraines be GONE???

While this sounds great, I am afraid to have my ovaries out and go into early menopause. I am only 36 and I have an aunt that use to take hormones and she got cancer.

Re: Will Migraines be GONE???

I had them before, and I have them after. The good thing is that I have had fewer after. However, there is no straightforward correlation. I have hormonal fluctuation even with the patch as the levels they supply drop over time, and on the day I change the patch, the one I'm taking off is putting out quite a bit less estrogen than it did the day before, and the new one hasn't had time to "ramp up" to putting out the optimal amount. My doc recently gave me estrogel to use on those days to help keep my levels up, but occasionally on those days I have had migraines (Like 5 migraines in the last 10 months). Also, I have been eating healthier, keeping a journal of what might trigger migraines, and I've been exercising more. So I can't say that taking out my ovaries and replacing them with HRT has ben the fixer for my migraines.
