TAH Incision sealed with Dermabond

I had a TAH/BSO with internal stitches and sealed externally with dermabond. What experiences have any of you had for your incision to heal and the glue to come off? I am four weeks post-op and glue still hanging on. Also puffy around incision and it really itches....hope all is well. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

No glue for me, just staples. But, if you have any redness, streaking or hot areas, call your dr. Puffy around the incision I don't have. Itching is a sign of healing. Good luck. They should be checking your incision at your post op visit. When do you go?

I also had a TAH with dermabond. I am 3 weeks and a couple days post op and I still have some glue stuck on there. I went for my post op appointment and the doc said it will was out or peel out slowly. My incision has not been itching but my swelly belly has been itching from time to time but nothing bothersome. I just put some natural anti-itch lotion I got from Whole Foods on the belly but not on the incision.

Dermabond was used on my "incisions" and I'll tell you, it took about 10 weeks for some of the scabs to come off. The incisions are still pretty red but not infected - I have fair skin so they probably look worse because of that.

doctor used dermabond on my incision, and it was fine until the 2-3rd week, the glue got thick and smelly, when the doctor saw it he said it needed to come off...so he took a cotton and peroxide water and just gently rubbed off the glue....it didnt hurt or anything.....one thing: NEVER just peel it off, you can damage the incision doing this... always keep area clean and dry......

I would call your doctor, maybe speak to a nurse and tell her how your incision is, maybe he would like to see you or he can tell you what to do over the phone.....
