still having some issues 3 1/2 yrs later

Hi everyone, I am new here. What a wonderful site!!!! Wish that I had found it much sooner than now. I had my TAH BSO 3 1/2yrs ago and I am still having tenderness at the incision site. In fact my lower tummy is still quite tender. I have also had very significant decrease in my libido and sexual responses. Since my hyst, sexual enjoyment has vanished in spite of a wonderful, supportive husband who really tries to understand what the hyst did to me. I have developed "buddha belly" and cant lose it. (Yuck, like I needed more fat!!! LOL)

While the hyst literally saved my life, I cant help but feel "fixed" or snorfledoodled (saw that term used elsewhere on this site). I don't mind not being able to have children. I do mind terrribly about all the hormone hell, low libido and lost sexual pleasure. I have been to several doctors and they believe it is nerve damage from the abdominal hyst. How frustrating.

Thanks to all who read and respond to this post. Thanks for listening. Sometimes it is just nice to let go of all of this....

Hugs,
Lisa

Hi,

I am sorry to hear that you are dealing with these issues still. Have you looked at the Hormone Jungle website, or message boards? There is a lot of good information there, and it sounds like some of the problem could be hormonal. http://www.homonejungle.com

Hi Lisa,

I just wanted to welcome you to the site. I know you will find very helpful info. I agree with robyn, try the hormone jungle board. Those ladies have experienced all the problems that you mentioned. I am sure that someone will be able to offer you a possible solution or suggestion.

Keep reading and posting it really is great therapy.

Hugs & Prayers,

Lisa,

Hello I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing so many problems so far post op. I wish that I had some answers for you. I know that my incision is still sometimes tender and it is also still numb at almost 2 years post op. But nothing like what you describe.

I also suggest that you take a look at the hormone jungle message boards here at Hyster Sisters. Those ladies are quite knowledgeable in the hormone dept. And it certainly sounds like some of this could be hormonally related.

I hope that you find answers very soon. Best wishes to you.
