Music Recommendations....

So what did you listen to on your iPod at the castle or during your surgery? Anyone have any recommendations for the value of "healing music?"

Music Recommendations....

For me personally, I got to come home the same day as my surgery so I kept my iPod at home. But honestly, my favorite music is always healing for me. It gives me energy, makes me smile, and makes me dance(or at least want to dance), so I think what works for one person may not for another. I say stock your iPod with all your most favorite songs from your entire life. Like as much as I had some of my recent favorites, I also added some of the oldies that my mom and I used to dance around the house to on Saturdays while doing chores(Nancy Sinatra, "These Boots Are Made for Walking") and my favorite stuff that helped me get through HS even!! It made me smile hearing songs that "brought me back" and gave me joy!

Good luck with your procedure!

I took my iPod too, never even touched it in the hospital. I listened to it alot during the day when I had some quiet in the house. I like a wide variety of music, so I just listened to what I like.

I brought my iPod, which I use all the time at home, and I could not stand to use it in the castle. Believe it or not, I found it made me feel more nauseous than when I wasn't listening to it. Weird.

Now that I am home and feeling better I am listening to all my favorite music. I also subscribe to PRI's Story Hour through iTunes and find that very soothing.

I need something with a good beat that I can really focus on - good dance music, oldies rock, country, pop stuff etc......sometimes the softer, more mellow music just makes me more anxious even though I love that kind too. My son is getting an ipod ready for me with lots of current stuff on it.
