Will hormones help migraines?

I had my hysterectomy back on March 21st of this year. I had the laproscopic type, my ovaries were removed as well. My doctor did not put me on any type of hormones after the surgery, and thankfully I have done pretty well. No hot flashes or moodiness. I am having migraines that are seemingly getting worse over the last few weeks. I did get migraines during the week prior to my period, pre-surgery. I was so hopeful that the hysterectomy would help relieve these migraines, alas they seem to have not been relieved. My question is could the migraines be relieved if I were to go on HRT? I am going to the Dr. on Monday, but would like some input from my fellow sisters who have gone through some of these things.

Will hormones help migraines?

I can only tell you about my migraines. Mine are hormonal and I was REALLY happy to get rid of my ovaries. I was given the Climera patch immedietly after surgery. I have done great! I still get headaches, but they are not as bad. No throwing up and horrible pain. MUCH better.

I think as time goes by I will get better. I am 10 weeks post op. Just getting the right dose is key.

Will hormones help migraines?

I had a TAH/BSO 15 months ago. I currently use Vivelle Dot for my HRT. While I still do have migraines, the frequency and severity have greatly decrease since surgery. I firmly believe that my wacky hormones prior to my hysterectomy played a large part with regard to the frequency and severity of my migraines. Just my personal opinion of course.

Will hormones help migraines?

I must be strange because mine migraines have tripled in frequency and severity since my TAH. I am on the vivelle dot and used to take excedrin migraine with an imitrex pill if I had a really bad one. Now the only thing that works is the imitrex injection at home and I am having to take 3-4 shots a week. We have tried other meds and they arent working. I hope you find relief soon. I know how horrible it is.
